  1. If at some point the 856 needed a rebuild what sort of money would i expect to throw at it? Just parts as would do myself. 5-600quid?
  2. Just looking into changing the way i do firewood. All wood is arb wood. Ive been considerig a japa 700 or a palax combi 2 second hand I have been thinking today wether it may be a better idea to get a pto saw bench, and a pto vertical log splitter? So i can cut into loader bucket and put into a pile then can be split using a pto log splitter as should have a good fast cycle. All wood is varying in size so 4" up to 36" discs etc so need a versatile setup Any help greatly appreciated. Shame apf is in september!!!
  3. Been and looke at a couple of tractors recently. All 2wd Wanting one to run a processor and maybe a few trips on the road. Looked at a little mf 565 starts on button and all works ok but only 60hp so little for road plus tractor doesnt weigh much. A mf690, this is a multi power and i dont know much about these? Didnt look round it much but may be worth another look? Think 80hp (would be easy to find a loader for if wanted ) Then there is a case 856xl, seems a good ish tractor but does breathe a bit on engine. Thats a 85hp turbo, It povabily wont go on the road much but if needed its always there Anyone had any dealings with any o the above tractors? Cheers
  4. All i know is a lot of the limited companies are listed as silverculture and forestry
  5. Hi Does anyone run a 2wd tractor on the road still? Most seem to be 4wd There looks to be some good value decent hp 2wd tractors about for sale. Cheers
  6. Spotted one for sale on here when i was in tenerife a few weeks back and was sold before i got home! 3.5k plus vat was gutted
  7. That sounds great to me
  8. What palax do you run? Yes im not interested in buying logs in and bring plenty back through work. Only snagg is i will most likely have to get anoter tractor as my mf30e loader tractor isnt fitted with 3pl. So unless the processor can be sat on floor and run off pto safely i'll rnd up going for another 100hp 4wd tractor for on the road aswell so more investment
  9. To be honest i dont want to put a lot of money into firewood etc, its just i need to clear and process in the yard better as it may aswell be split and drying and tidy!
  10. Budget would be 3.5-4k i would say what can i get for that? Wondering how much japa 700's are new aswell
  11. It was too hot when i was there last month, and all i was doing was supping beer
  12. Rad flush is good yes, but what the oter chap means is to blow out and clean the radiator fins. If blocked no air will pass through to cool the water. Try this.

  15. Hi, Im just wonderin from users how people find the hs82r hedge trimmers? I use a 30" old style hs80 at the moment and was looking to get a new one. Are they as tough as the old hs80's etc? As that trimmer gets quite a bit of stick and hard work thrown at it. Just checking as you know what manufacturors are like for saving weight on machines and makin everything to break and be flimsy. Many thanks
  16. Yup this is what it is Mark
  17. Absolutley gutted! Really nice genuine chap! Dealt with him only a few times over the last 10 years or so but always a pleasure. I remember him getting the cider equiptment. Gutted id say he wasnt even tht old! Nearly 60 or just over?

If my yard was better and i had grandfather rights i'd deffinetly leave the 3.5t threshold! Think i'd have a good 4-5 k outlay for license etc before buying a wagon. Will see. Your doing the right thing i would say!

  25. Sorry i should have elaborates more but didnt have time. I meant as in that people need to work and pull their weight. If a jobs for 2 for a day and ones not pulling their weight on phone etc all theyve done is come to clock in clock out. Yes it is the bosses problem if things dont go to plan or on timescale etc but the staff can be a variable in this situation. Just be willing to work, learn and have fun thats all id want That make sense now?
