  1. Im sure you can as its plant and a tool for work. Tacho comes into it when hauling goods i.e logs, chip etc thats my take on it
  2. I thought it was meant asin working day affected by driver hours?
  3. Surely working hours only applies to those whom drive as their main job. Cant see how its different from driving a 3.5t to site then back after work. Driving is not main occupation.
  4. Any pics please kev sounds a good machine and something that could suit me at some point
  5. Please lets not spoil this thread with pay situation keep on track Vosa thread here
  6. Theyre only held in with 2 rivets Mick
  7. Not sure your budgets enough at 10k im afraid. yes always see some safetrac's pop up cheap and wonder why...
  8. What size capacity is the quick chip John?
  9. I must admit they do look good! Hmmmmmmmm.....
  10. This was fun the other year
  11. You do not need cpc as driving is not your main occupation. Also there is a tacho exepmtion for X amount of milesd from base
  12. Check the fuel yes but for 2 screws take the front of the exhaust off and have a look at the piston! They can semi seize and score on exhaust side then not give enough comp to pull fuel through
  13. Hi Mark, can you elabourate on this please? Are you saying you would have refused the tree? Or saying that it should have been planted in a different way? cheers
  14. Is that the green mesh type stuff?
  15. I already have most of that but its the drying stage i need to sort.... Mainly keeping them dry! only as can season them well. All i need is a Barn really or some curtain side wagon bodies i think. Logs can be profitable and I do ok with them as is but always can do better
  16. The best way to sell firewood
  17. Hi Neil, Its so frustrating is the log job. Im sure i could easy do 120 cube a year but more stress to keep them dry, more crates, more space needed. Ive considered cutting the amount of logs I process down a lot. Shame theres no where i know of for biomass round here as would get a big chipper and chip the lot! maybe just how i feel at the moment!
  18. What size poly tunnel is that Al? How many will it fit in? Forklift truck job to stack i take it? bit reluctant to do anything at my yard as i rent and its so exposed to the elements. Looking into buying somewhere soon
  19. Think most are 80-100 but we are further north than that. Just seen the other week theres someone doing a crate 1.2cube for 65.00 and 50 for bsl rhi
  20. Think it best i just take a second tractor to site then to tow the trailer! Easier this way. Dont fancy the unimog route, like my tractors
  21. Are there any pto chippers out there 8-10" that can have a trailer pulled behind them? Or is it a case of stretching draw bar on trailer?
  22. Hi there, Cheers for that... Aren't the bag supplies ones metre cube only? Cheers
  23. Hi Kev, So you've fresh split into the bags back end last year or early this year for this back end? Would be interested to hear how its gone for you! Please do check I would bounce them with tractor when filling then just stack. Cheers
  24. Bloody hell John, throwing the money about at the moment!
  25. Has anyone out there gone from seasoning in ibc's to seasoning in vented bags? Thinking of cutting out handling but wanting to know if they season well from fresh felled in the vented bags? Dont want to go round in circles as sometimes it can feel that way! I air season logs and sheet up at back end as do not have a building. May be looking to move yards to somewhere with a building soon and would think the vented bags stacked and then when sold out would look tidier than ibc's stacked and then empty... ? Also ine thing to consider is i use a loader tractor and can be a pain to see to pick up the ibc's but in the other senario youve to jump out to put loops on forks then drive forwards then jump back out for the other loops on the bag! no winning is there! cheers
