  1. Same here! I dread to think how much money yard will have cost in 10 years when that could have been paying one off! Yes fields do come up for sale etx but no chance of change of use. Piddling unto the wind springs to mind! People dont seem to remember that industry needs places to work, some will buy house close to businesses then complain about businesses noise etc...
  2. Ford 7610's anyone know much about these? I know they can go porus etc and column shift gears are bad but what are they like? On road and as a loader tractor? Cheers
  3. Did we get anywhere with this?
  4. Log Splitter 2015 KTM Machinery 10 Ton PTO Hydraulic Log splitter | eBay Yay or ney? Any others??
  5. Does anyone know if its possible to get a pto machine vertical splitter for sub 1k? Seen some ktm ones at 1k but not sure what theyre like. I have a tractor say about that i'd like to be earning. Only has25lpm oil flow so not the best! I had seen a malone aplitter that was just hyd powered but thats 950.00! Think pto is the best way to go for this machine? Tbh wouldnt want to invest anymore than that into it. Have another tractor and splitter but it has a whopping ram and the tractor with 25lpm has no chance at running it Any opinions greatly appreciated. Vertical splitter and a decent knife not bothered about 4 way.
  6. Yes it is. All depends on your business model and stage of the game your at
  7. A 5k tipper will do the same as a 10-17k tipper Sometimes going new is better for tax etx and image but at the end of the day they do the same job A new motor will depreciate a lot. A 3-5k motor wont depreciate a lot Most folk that go for new either turn over a lot of brass or are no good on the spanners. An older motor can break down yes but so can a new one.
  8. How long of a waiting period do people think is acceptable to get a machine fixed that is only 3-4 months old? I have a new chipper with a leaking fuel tank and have waited since last thurs for an answer to be told this morning cant be fixed till next tuesday! And i have to take it in to be repaired 100-110 mile round trip and my time. So thats a good few days i cant use that machine!
  9. I find its the older generation that are better than thr younger. More sensible, can see what needs doing without being asked, curtious, reliable. Some may be slower than the younger generation but have better staying power! Go for it
  10. Mounts on chassis were ok, this was the cradle / bracket end that bolts to the engine. What a mission. That holds the engine in. Then the radiator is on a different bracket at the back of the cradle in same bolt holes! Got there though
  11. So we had a worn mount and worn bolts. Sorted both out and started phtting back together the other evening. Will sort it out soon as booked in for some work with it
  12. Your not wrong Kev but thats how some operate

  17. Will 500.00 be a good enough budget? Ideally new
  18. Looking for a new welder soon. Want something that can weld 6-8 maybe 10mm Currently have a little clarke 150turbo but is only really any good for up to 6mm Back in my days at a garage i used to do all the welding with either a 245 or 275 amp welder though cant remember the make. Can i get anything reasonable for 500.00? Any reccomendations? Cheers
  19. I did near enough the exact same thing last week on an sycamore dismantle at roadside. Chogged it down into grain trailer
  20. Is it a fixed or extendable boom? Cheers
  21. Sorry to burst your bubble but it will carry nothing legally. I ran one a few years back a crew cab like that and it weighed 3t empty. Before tools, fuel workers and lunchbox. If i had taken more biscuits to work with me i could have been overweight enpty lol. They are a great motor just heavy. Crew cabs make it worse
  22. No the 5 tonners are damn near same as the 35 the 6-6.5t have a bigger chassis, suspension and wheels etc the 6.5t is the one to go for
