  1. He's deffinetly in the husqvarna camp that lad
  2. Not tried a husky, but i own a 441, i'm very pleased with it, was looking at either the stihl 460 or the 441, i went for the 441 due to low vibrations, i've also used a 460 and that was a very good saw too, 460 is an old tried tested design, the 441 is newer technology. I'm happy with the 441, but some don't rate it against the 460. 20" bar on the 441 is a good match, bit of a wuss on the 25" bar
  3. Excellent thread!! Some great info in here.... just a bit of a long trawl it was as i've done all 43 pages at once lol keep the photo's and debates/comments coming!!
  4. should be an earth, live then nothing on the other wire till its switched over..... you can try joining the two lives together (manually switching the current instead of the switch) to see if it works....
  5. check to see if its getting power to the switch, trace it back, theyre a 3 pin switch arn't they? well mine was... it was lighting up on the led but then not switching the live over to feed the light
  6. recently sorted mine in my iveco, i checked the bulb, traced the wire through the dash, removing parts as i go..... it ended up being the switch in the end lol, use a multi meter and get stuck in
  7. 20 an hour? you want to come out with 120-160 a day and to cover your costs on top. 20 an hour on an 8 hour day does't cut it...
  8. Not at all patronising, its all things i have to think of over the new year, how to do it all better. Will be putting a little bit of money into fire wood next year, new decent tarps, proper planning, storage and processing. Roll on 2012
  9. What can you do when local companies are selling at between 30-40 quid a builders bag ey? i envy all you charging so much for wood, its worth it but people around here do not want to pay.....
  10. all it would have taken was for him to slip when pulling that branch out and a fall and flail of arms and horrible accident
  11. know your product, you should be able to tell if its hardwood or softwood
  12. any chance you can put the pics on here of the grease nipples? and glad the chippers sorted shame about having to fork out 260 quid just before christmas, but at least you know its on top of its game for the start of the new year
  13. so was i but the woman said that it was full and to register before june next year? Funny bit was the woman's last name was rainford, so i wonder if its any relation to rob on here..... hmmmm
  14. missed the boat for the rfs i think, isn't it september to september? was looking at doing it but it was fully booked
  15. what so don't throw logs into a pile stack them sort of and not have them in a heap Do a little fire wood but not much... cheers
  16. what is the device the climber is using? a spider jack or lock jack?
  17. Bump, lets have this back up to the top Some good reading and points here
  18. It needs the fuel draining (tank) then renew the fuel filter.... if possible clear the fuel lines, fill back up with diesel and try again. Shouldn't have been run to be honest.... i'd be inclined to ring the dealer up and give them a rollocking for bad advice, it will not get you anywhere though As said by other people, diesel lubricates the system also and injector pumps etc can easily get damaged. Old technology can withstand it some times and you can "get away with it" but newer technology needs extra care....
  19. Its a trailed thing not something thats driven on a public road..... plant machinery can run on red.....
  20. run the bigger machine, save on fuel, speed up jobs and create more profit
  21. I'd go for the 150, i've used both and was sick and tired of the stress kicking in on the 125, have used another, tunnison 5" petrol, thats the same with the stress kicking in all the time, so annoying and takes longer to chip things. I'm sure my old vermeer 620i chipped better than that tunnison i used I now own a tw150, i condiser them to be "entry" level chippers to be honest, like the ford escort of the car/van world and would't have a smaller machine, or a petrol one again. Diesel, more power and cheaper fuel and yes the timberwolf website says 2 tonne for the 125 and 4 tonne for the 150
  22. Sounds like a good move then well done that man
  23. 064's Rule and those 200t's look really clean, i'm sure you'll have no problem selling those
