  1. it was sunny today....don't know what all the fuss is about,,
  2. i was deadwooding a montery. about 40ft up... had just had a conversation with a customer who is being somewhat of an arse.. he made my blood boil, after the conversation i moved along the limb i was working on, left foot on the limb and went to remove the dead branch to the right of my foot (know i know) real gentle cut, just pinged through and quick as that it hit me,,,, REALLY scary,, the only reason i was using my topper was i'd literally JUST snapped my handsaw,,, it was a cutting edge lex330.. just took delivery of a nice silky.. i cannot believe how hard the saw hit my boot,, the knock hurt my foot but SO lucky it stopped the chain..
  3. still got a cake for an avatar though..... once you admit this issue to yourself......
  4. always wondered how effective chainsaw boots REALLY are.. well i found out this week,, made a STUPID mistake,,, luckily my boots did their thing,, not a mark on me, i can now poke my finger right the way through and touch skin,, new boots for me,, the pic doesn't show how bad it really is.. if you bend the boot out it's torn right the way along..
  5. when i first got y tachyon i couldn't stand it,,, now,, i couldn't imagine climbing with anything else,,, even in the wet it's great for me,

  7. sorry, couldn't resist.. but seriously,, i good friend of mine lost several stone,,, he just stopped eating bread,, totally oh and switched off beer too..

  9. stop eating bread,,, and maybe look at this thread.. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/22276-harness-larger-climber.html
  10. suggest you read up on winching and techniques as trying to winch with no turns taken is asking for trouble and trying to reverse pulling on the winch using a defender is asking for a broken propshaft,,,(speaking from experience:blushing:) as said above, unless is it a competition...slow =safe..
  11. burn baby burn..
  12. totally agree with you,, was not disputing that either,,

NEVER admit it,,, not in public,, you muppet,,,
  16. just needed to add that digital cannot do as good a job as film, hence the need for software to sort it out after.. doesnt mean the photo isnt real. but as a digi only knows shades of grey and doesnt do white then software HAS to be used to sort it out,,
  17. not wanting to open a tin of worms,, but in other threads when ariel rescue is discussed the common point made is that the best person to get someone out of a tree is the person themselves,,, unless of course they are unconscious,, i'm not saying he should be climbing without a second climber,, i'm just saying that in other threads ariel rescue is often mocked
  18. just post your chains to stevie,, he loves to sharpen,,, :-)
  19. not guilty.. just we've not met, anyway,, i've got less hair..esp after todays climb..
  20. where abouts in cornwall are you?
  21. also worth noting that on all winch packaging/ instructions it clearly states the winch is not to be used for lifting/ lowering..

  23. it's paid for itself 10 times over already.. no issues with the winch at all, it is the x12 ProductsList got it from ebay from the same company but it was a load cheaper..
  24. petrol goes in the saws,, diesel goes in the landy,,, not the other way round..
