  1. Yea the treemagic is wide webbing like the skylotec. Maillon probably would work.. But its then steel on ali and extra clanking around. I think gettin a new Dee is the best solution assuming it is allowed/acceptable. If there is no good reason not to use one of a skylotec then that is what i will do..
  2. Nothing in particular, Just had a healthy discussion with the lady loler inspector that works in there. Only a slight difference of opinion. Anyway, I will stop derailing the thread and try to find some of those pastie vest photos of myself:laugh1:
  3. More likely weighed down with bags fully of shiny stuff after being told off for wanting to splice my own ropes by mrsloler lol..

    270mm gomtaro. Love it:biggrin:
  5. For a second I was worried you might have taken a sly pic of me looking pastie in my vest on friday! Phew:001_tt2: Passed the course btw Thanks for the instruction..
  6. Something along the lines of what you might say to yourself when you realise it is another harness question. Damn it "not another harness question" haha:sneaky2: Thanks Paul, I couldn't see a reason not to use one. After all it is from a similar type bridge harness.. And yea Rob, I would like to use a ring. But I don't think they are designed to work on the flat webbing bridge of a treemagic harness..
  7. Hi everyone, sorry for another harness thread, but I couldn't find anything specific to my question using the search. I have a treemagic2 and there are two D's. The only annoying thing is that they are too small and triangular shaped to comfortably take two carabiners. Is it acceptable to get one of the larger D's from a Skylotec as a replacement when I put a new bridge on soon? Just thought there might be some sort of CE or EN conflict or something silly like that. I know the treemagic 1 had just one large D. This is what I would prefer if it is possible.. Thanks

  9. Some CHOOONS on this thread haha
  10. Incomprehensible how much power is involved with such an event! Really feel for Japan, But if anyone will be able to cope with it, they will.
  11. I can second that. He is a pro!
  12. Knowing how Im not perfect at doing crossovers yet, I just removed the core and made it as if it were a long split tail. 90% milked it, then cut off the excess and milked the rest. It gave me a little bit of spare cover at the end to fold over and stitch. Man this thing retrieves soooo easily.
  13. Finally got round to doing one of these. Thanks Craig for the pics you posted and tips.
  14. Firstly, they chose that profession. Second, just because it is a tough job, does that mean they are allowed to make up laws to try to intimidate the public into doing what they want, so they can feel like a big tough policeman. Its like they want to be John Wayne, save the town, shoot up all the baddies and look like a hero. dO sOmE rEaL pOlIcE wOrK pLeAsE:cursing:
  15. This really helped me when deciding on a hitch to use with the hitchclimber. http://www.treebuzz.com/pdf/climbing_hitches.pdf Sorry, if it is really obvious stuff to you.
  16. Ive done some pleaching, but only on young trees (hornbeam) planted specifically for pleaching. I would think it is probably a bit harder to get a nice look with more mature trees. The frames are only really needed to get the main limbs established in the right direction/shape. Once the structure is there the frames can be removed and the trees look a lot better for it. Once the shape is sorted, trim with long arm hedgetrimmers
  17. Michoacan or knut were two hitches I really liked when getting used to the Hitchclimber style system. Bit more reliable on the grabbing front than a VT. With a cord that long you are probably better on the knut over the michoacan. Michoacan is a short hitch like a distel so with a cord that long the 'sit back' would be quite big.
  18. Ive just made one with 4mm wire, I used epoxy resin to mould over the ends and over the wire just to smooth it out a little. Works pretty well.
  19. Brilliant video! Good on the guy. Fair enough he has gone through a red traffic light.. Not smart. However, I think the police need to remember that they work for us. They do not have the right to abuse their power but making up fake laws and trying to intimidate the public as this policeman tries to. I have to say I don't feel sorry for the police. They choose the job because they are power hungry control freaks. Does not mean I don't appreciate the work they do, however at times some of it seems very pointless.
  20. What's the issue? They are not disrespecting those who gave their lives. They are just moving a memorial.. It makes no difference to the people the memorial was made for, so why should we mind. Either way, nothing will stand in the way of progress..
  21. I know that Plane tree. It is a beast.. Kinda tempted to climb it at some point
  22. Anyone for a game of quidditch??
  23. The video is a demonstration of the techniques available when there is no branch there. Is there another way to adjust the length of the pull down part that quickly when using a running bowline? I think they are just more useful tools for the toolbox.
  24. No, I get it. Thanks mate. I need double the length I want the ropeguide to be, plus a bit for the crossover. Then lockstitch it to death
  25. Tidy! Is the ropeguide spliced with the core removed method? If it is, do you perform the tapers to the buried part differently? Or do you still remove the same number of strands? Cheers, Ben
