    its a pity

We took a lovely gum down today for similar reasons but I didn't feel as bad as I do after digging up a rotten stump full of juicy stag beetle grubs.

  3. It's bad but not quite as serious as the fella I saw at college with his harness on in the canteen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Exactly this . I once partially trimmed a castlewellan late in the year and the only part that showed these symptoms was the part I had trimmed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Bet that glen fella would like the ends of his fingers back too.
  6. What was the speed of the ram like? The vids of the ones I've seen look a bit frustrating.
  7. Cheers Dom I am swaying towards one of these jobbies now, I'll see how fit I feel come winter. Why did you get rid? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I had almost made my mind up to get a fiskars and you come along and sway me back to the splitter:001_smile:. It does makes sense to save the wear and tear on me bones but cant help but think I'd find them too slow. Like the look of this though even if it seems a bit steep.Log Splitter Fruit Press Attachment
  9. I think he called it the Kenyon lift but never got the patent. HB's used to sell one and just called it the prussik lift I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Or a bad one
  11. Sophora japonica ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thinking about it I did call about the locks and was greeted with indifference but they weren't rude I'm sure. If this other place makes em lighter there probably worth looking at, trouble is they sound like they're miles away down on the coast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Funnily enough just been talking to he who writes the cheques and we're going back for the body on our new truck after we got the last one from there, I've not dealt with them directly but he doesn't tolerate shoddiness so don't think they can be too bad. We did have a couple of problems with the locks on our last body but nothing too serious . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Seen one at a show some where, not for me I'm afraid. Thanks though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Well I just don't know now cheap splitter or expensive axe ?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Why will you revert to the maul ? Speed ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks Looks pretty good for the price, though I cant see see any warranty info:confused1: They all look frustratingly slow but cant help but think it might be worth it in the long run, splitting by hand cant be that good for you and I never feel that inclined after a hard days graft.
  18. Cheers I'll have a look later.
  19. Thanks Any idea how much you can get done in a day?
  20. Yep, had a look far to slow, looks like a new axe is on the cards. Ta
  21. I'm not expecting it to last years and years, just wondered if anyone had any experience with them and have any idea how many cube of easy logs I could split before it gives up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well I could do but I thought a cheap splitter would be easier. How good can an axe be and how much effort will it save?
  23. Has anyone used one ? I'm thinking about something in the £200 price bracket which I think means I'll get about 4t of pressure . We don't sell logs so I can avoid all the knotty stuff and splitting the purchase between 4 of us I guess it will have to do about 20m3 a year . It's gotta beat splitting with a cheap boot sale maul but how long will it last ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Ha, definitely true prob spotted more people than fish infact .
  25. What advantage to polarized glasses give for work ? I know the benefits for fishing but not sure how this helps else where.
