  1. Yes, I thought ash originally, but just can't find anything like it - and wouldn't you expect seeds? Thanks so far.... Have sent sample to the RHS to see what they make of it.....
  2. Wouldn't Gleditsia show some sort of flowers or pods?
  3. First time on here, so be kind to me if I don't do it right please! Can anyone help to ID this specimen tree growing in a garden in mid-Devon? Approx 50' tall, delicate kind of canopy. Looks a bit like an ash only lighter. Owner claims no flowers or fruit of any sort for last 30 yrs at least. Can it be some kind of sterile clone of something? Picked leaves have a faintly sweet scent. There should be a scan of a photo and a scan of some foliage attached. Suggestions have ranged from some kind of hickory to acacia.....
