Best suggestion I can give just going from the photo posted at the start of the thread is it looks really dark and uninviting from a distance, to anyone wandering around who hasn't heard of arbtalk and wants to pop in and day hello, at a padding glance you can't see anything to draw you in. A set of replacement gazebo covers in white so as much light as can do gets in would be a good start. Failing that a generator and mains lighting so everything is lit properly. I do shows every weekend through summer selling camping gear and have done for over 10 years now, getting people to notice something that appeals from a distance so they stop and come for a proper look and see something worth buying is what you need to address Other than looking gloomy which may just be that photo it looks good, but with clothing bright stalls always do better than dark ones
  2. Last few flywheels I have removed by undoing the nut and leaving it flush with the end of the crank holding saw by flywheel and letting a heavy ratchet or bar slide through my fingers to knock it, usually comes loose within one or two knocks
  3. Stihl would be my choice 440, 460 or 660 depending upon what is about secondhand at what price. Maybe wishing for a 660 is a bit much but a 460 would be fine and should be well in price wise
  4. Are you just looking for a yard or are you being inventive with your thinking ? What about a corner of a farm yard or field, most farmers will be happy to relieve you of a few quid for use of an area that they don't use themselves Or do you work closely with any others in your area that would yard share, better to split overheads as long as the ground rules are set down to start with so you both keep things tidy etc
  5. Isn't the duty on fuel road fuel duty though ? If used in a chainsaw technically there shouldn't be any duty on it if that is the case Coleman fuel is sold as a fuel for cooking in there stoves which I guess means when I sell it only 5% of the sale price is vat same as on campingaz refills and disposable cylinders the gas is vat rated at 5%
  6. Have thought about using Coleman fuel in a saw but never tried it yet, it smells the same as Aspen and as I sell Coleman fuel to go with the stoves and lanterns I sell I get it at a good price. Naptha based panel wipe is quite widely used as a cheaper alternative by a lot of people in the stoves and lanterns but again as I only pay trade on the fuel I buy in I only put the proper stuff in my stove and lantern. Would be interested to know if anyone has tried it in a saw though as it would be cheaper than aspen as there is no fuel duty on it
  7. Got my 025 in bits on the bench today, given it a pressure and vacuum test and crank seals are leaking Anyone know which seals it needs for me to do them without dismantling it. Have looked in the ipl and there are 2 different part numbers which I assume is one for a dismantled saw and one for an assembled saw any idea which is which ? Will still need to get a puller to get them out without dismantling it but am slowly working my way through all of my saws as around half of them are running badly and laid up
  8. You don't even need an mot or insurance anymore to tax a vehicle Taxed my bike a couple of months back at the post office and asked what he needed the day before and was told just the documents or reminder, I said do you just check mot and insurance through computer and he said no don't bother anymore if you tax it and it isn't insured they can tell from the computer and will just come and nick you when you use it Seems to be the same online now as well, taxed wife's car a few days ago and the new tax website didn't have the pause for checking insurance and mot like the last one did. All you have to do now to check if something has tax or mot is check it online using the reg number and make Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Depends on what you are after, used parts look through the advertisers In lro new I usually use either island 4x4 or paddock depends what I need and who is cheapest for the right quality part Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. If you do a google search for vehicle insurance check you will get a link to the motor insurance database website askmid and can use it to check your own vehicle insurance details are on there correctly and it is showing as insured Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Yet my brand new ts800 has only ever had aspen in it and when I got it out to use it a week ago took ages to get started, almost as if the aspen wouldn't ignite Ms660 purchased at the same time but used more often only ever had 2 stroke mix in and started first time after the same 8 weeks on the shelf as the ts800 Was going to run the 660 out of 2 stroke mix and put aspen into it as it doesn't get used very often but that has put me off Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. One thing to remember when you get your chassis replaced is your vin number If the place replacing your chassis decides after you have paid and gone that your old chassis is repairable, have it blasted, repaired and galved and your number is identifiable then someone could rebuild and apply for documents causing you hassle and loss of reg number. I know of this happening before on a 110 rebuilt and sold, old chassis taken complete to scrapyard, scrapyard sold it, new chassis owner applied for documents and got them as he had original chassis. Find your vin number on the front chassis leg and just before taking it for a new chassis fitting cut it out complete with a cutting disc or get them to do it while you watch when you get there. Have it cut around an inch wide and half inch longer than it needs to be to keep the number intact, polish it up, laquer it and use it as a keyring. That way no one else can do anything with your number as the police will be able to identify your new key ring as the original Landrover stamps for your vehicle Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Unless you are chucking a lot of extra bits on as well as the chassis you should come in well under your estimate. I do chassis fitting during the winter months for a local independant landrover workshop, charge them £800 for the labour and they provide all parts, if springs and shockers etc are rough usually easier and cheaper to just replace at time of chassis swap than mess with old ones It is around 40-50 hours work doing a chassis swap but not technically difficult Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. With PayPal the rates you get are the worst they can be to start with, if you are putting over £1500 a month through your PayPal account you can get put onto a business rate with a lower percentage Pcidss compliance if you are a small merchant doesn't take too long but most of it is totally irrelevant The thing is you have to go through the form and state N/A and give a reason so to something like the network and security section if you are only using a handheld chip and pin machine you can answer N/A to all questions with either no network or no personnel, no wireless access points as the reasons. My completed questionnaire looks like a bit of a mickey take as most of it is N/A with a 2 or 3 word reason why but it makes me compliant and saves £10 a month for not being Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. The brake bleeding kit on the left of the pic in rays post can be had on eBay for around £40 and does pressure and vacuum Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. I would have thought it makes no difference to new machinery sellers, after all someone in the market for a used piece of machinery probably doesn't have the funds to buy new Someone looking to sell used may well be looking to upgrade to new once they have released the cash in there used machine to go with what they have saved or can borrow Win win for both and most show organisers would take the extra income from a used display area even if it was only a small fee per machine parked up for sale Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Have seen some small trackers on eBay recently ship direct from china only cost £10 charge it up pop a SIM card in and 7 days battery life Perfect for hiding in a saw overnight I was going to post one to someone I needed to find and let the postal redirect find them for me with the aid of the tracker But for a thief at £10 each they are disposable if they lead them to the gear they need Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. I don't bother covering them at all Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
