  4. ,,nothing set in stone yet john, just gauging the interest, was thinking about practical sessions of various mills, tips from veterans, possible slide show in evening or a talk,,,camping, and maybe a little build challenge,,,say 4hrs to mill and make a subject of whatever, bench,table,,,etc,,, on a more serious note, my thoughts are with you and your wife !all the best

  6. ok throwing a spanner in the works,,,how much do you actually know about milling? know more than most? think you do? know you do? actually do? willing to show others? keen to learn? mill a bit and could learn more? dabble and want too know more? every other subject has a meet,open day or association? anybody fancy a day or weekend where we all learn from each other and dont worry about competition,,,just learning something?,few beers,,,?have no plans as yet,,like I say all input welcome,,,
  7. thanks chris,,,was just using odds and ends up,,,as nice as the oak is think it might split on the roofs,so will stick with wrc in future,alot more stable,,love mixing natural wood colours,,,,
  8. hi,,not the most funky tables but a useful use of offcuts of wellingtonia and cedar,,with wrc /oak roofs,,,,,

  15. thanks rover,,,its just a matter of getting on with it,,,nothing too tecnical with a table,,,it helps having a woodmizer mind,,lol, love being creative and putting a good tree which has has to be removed for one reason or another to good use,,,not much of a tree goes to waste here,,,it is nice doing the whole process,,,

  22. Oak table 12ft long made from Oak . legs where offcuts from a porch we built, and the top a pair of warped boards we ripped in half to get the bow out,before planning them up.draw pegged.
  23. hi ,,thanks for nice comments, the bench is made from cedar, and the tree had been down for about 3months, but standing dead for a while I guess, cedar is very stable, and drys remarkable fast, its also not the heaviest of timbers, when I make these in oak its very hard to move with four of you, but in cedar you can manage, we turned it sideways to get it through the back garden gate,, there built to last and Ive had four in a local boys school for a yr now and still going strong. the off cuts I use for various uses ,from bird tables too cooking planks..
  24. why would you go "national" grass cutting,,,? if your doing a good job,at a fair price,with honest standards,,your best form of advertising will be word of mouth,,,
