  1. How long is it ? Ie two person or three? Great use of material you had and very creative, fair play if you can get that price, doubt I could,,,
  2. Always a big step, but a rewarding one,and sounds like you`,ve almost there anyway, I was a full time ranger,in a good job, but after five yrs found that my chance of promotion was poor(and justified as the senior ranger is still there 19yrs on)so I went part time whilst I built up my customer base, this worked and soon enough the days I still worked for the council was a pain, is there options for this,or subbing back to them, ? Follow your gut,I covered my backside a bit and learnt new skills too ,so when one aspect was quiet then I work on the otherside of the buisness(woodwork) Good luck
  3. :thumbup:cheers paul:thumbup: call in if your passing

  6. Thanks guys, these benches I make are all just knocked up depending on what material I have I usually do the two sides first and then link them up with the long bits, making sure the seat height , is correct, and the seat should lean back just enough so it's comfortable whilst not tipping over I have got a set of rounding planes and Tennon Cutters, but you wouldn't won't to use it on these as its seasoned yew, with bark removed and sanded, each one comes out different
  7. cool, where from? any pics, keep people posted on your thoughts as you progress, nice one
  8. hi guys I fix them with index screws that pull up tight, then plug with plugs from the same wood, on the seats I sometimes use different type plugs to show contrast, this bench sold before xmas as a present for a mates wife, (cheers rob)

  11. I am cutting some over grown hazel at the moment ,and have done on and off for 20 yrs, I store it all stood up under a lean too and then pick at it through out the yr for various craft product, to name a few, reindeer heads/body`s, bird feeders, rustic chair frames, bird houses, turned mushrooms, rustic milled fencing for allotments, now whilst it doesnt last for ever outside like larch or chestnut, it lasts long enough for the purpose it was intended, and at the price I market it at, basically use what you have and experiment! and I do burn some too,
