spread sawdust on the driveway so the customer can get grip for tyres etc, it worked for us last week, had a bit of an awkward client who was very pleased with the newfound grip provided and he said he would be happy to sweep up when the ice melted:thumbup1:

everytime i drop a log and trap my finger it gets really warm a minute later, try getting someone to drop a log on yer foot, or buy a larger boot for your freakishly large left foot:001_smile: seriously though maybe you could try stretching your left boot a bit with one of them shoe stretching jobbies?

the climbing/cutting isn't a major problem, just the logistics of getting vehicles kit to jobsites and arisings away, i had a trailer with 2t of logs on board try to overtake the landrover lastyear on black ice.. serious underpant soup moment! sometimes its better to have a few days off and stay safe:001_smile:

whats the speed limit on the humber bridge for a truck skidding a log?

also if you are standing about for any length of time try to stand on something like a mat/cardboard/plank/sawdust etc instead of concrete/ice, it makes a massive difference:001_cool:

when it happens next pull the boot off and hold in front of the chipper exhaust for a minute or so, it'll fill with lovely hot air:thumbup1:, don't let your feet/hands etc get too cold, stop before its too late and sort it out, my right foot gets cold when driving as its close to the legendary landrover door seal, its worse when theres an inch or two of snow on my boots.. ice blocks.

theres a load of people falling at the mo, we saw an old guy proper slap and banged his head on the road lastweek:thumbdown:, the missus rang me two days ago from sainsburys to tell me she'd falled on the ice and landed on two bags of bottles on the way to the bottlebank, she had broken a couple of bottles and was on the way to A+E, xrays and stuff later and she is all bruised and still not able to drive:thumbdown:, i don't mind the stuff, its usually me making a slide across the carpark:thumbup:

sounds a bit poor to me, don't forget batteries don't like sitting on cold hard surfaces, treat them to a handy bit of board for insulation, -

my day started bad too, landy wouldn't start as i'd left the alternator wire connected all weekend, tried the chipper battery on it but it wasn't man enough so started it using the disco battery, then the dumper wouldn't start so after pouring boiling water on various padlocks i got the shed open and enough wires to use the womans hairdryer down the air intake to get it started, all set just intime to hit rush hour traffic.. finally got to the yard over an hour late to be met by a lovely cup of scalding tea, thanks nick:thumbup:

there's always lucozade sport lurking in the cab somewhere, then a 2ltr water bottle (2 in summer) the stove died last winter so hot drinks are on the client, if working local the woman brings drinks in the hotmugs.. i miss the stove (meths burner) and need to replace it:001_smile:
