1. Even before you go out would you have offered a minimum charge for an emergency call out?
2. Just out of curiosity do you have a standard minimum fee for normal hours tree work. This would be my starting point. Then perhaps an out of hours premium, but I think you have to be realistic. So you normal rate for the clear up and perhaps your minimum charge plus an out of hours rate. Maybe plus 50%, because if you need staff to get involved it will have to be worth there while. Or you have an arrangement with another company do cover out of hours work.
3. Not so much a storm earlier, more a tidal surge. It came to within inches of flooding parts of Belfast, including nearly re-floating the SS Nomadic,s dry dock.
4. Just caught the corner of the roof cladding, nothing to major. It's a church hall - Devine intervention. We had to rely on a winch on to stop it falling back into the hall as we dismantled it - just in case our connections with the big guy weren't strong enough.
5. Just of the Kings Road, East Belfast. Also got a car out from this one in Newtownards. We had 4 trees to deal from the Boxing Day storm.
6. I not sure you can really get a like comparison between a compact tractor and a compact loader. Two very different creatures. They have some similar characteristics but very many more differences. A bit more head scratching required to work out exactly what it needs to do and in what type of environment.
7. . This popped over on Boxing Day.
8. Tidied up this 50 ft euc today. Seriously heavy timber. We took just over 6ton away.
9. That's a cool way of adding a link, it's like my iPad has been possessed by a google elf.
10. Very handy and I guess very strong. Nice one. Thanks
11. Hi Joy Just looking at the yard where the blue disco is sitting, is that concrete slats, or timber sleepers surfacing it? Whatever it is, it looks quite effective Thanks
12. We run an annualised hours system were we work longer hours in the summer and reduced in the winter but get paid the same year around. Averages out at 38/39 hours a week
13. Maybe they'll kick of now, our yards frozen already tonight. did you get much timber gathered up from the storms?
14. That is a load and two halves there. Excellent.
15. I wouldn't get to excited about the indespension lock, we drilled ours out with a cordless drill and a sharp hss bit in under 60seconds, the inners were brass? and very soft. Our lock got hard to use after a year so out came the drill. Having said that the ifor lock got grit in it and also become hard to use, but at least if its left unlocked you can still use the hitch.
16. We had one of each, same model you're looking at. Indespension floor failed in2-3 years,we sold it. The ifor was a much better trailer. Just traded it in for a new 10x5. Lots of improvements on the previous model. I really couldn't recommend an indespension 10x5 although the tail ramp was longer which was the only plus point.
17. Interesting that thy actually bored. 50mm hole through the stem. I wonder how they seal it afterwards.
18. You,ve got to get the vans washed. This time of year they don't stay clean for long, the roads are grimey and the lanes are muddy. The only thing that worries me about cleaning the vans is it shows up all the dents and scratches they've picked up over the year.
19. That was one of those "slow motion" moments watching it roll towards the glazing.
20. Nice handy one for a Friday. We had a bit of glass to contend with!
21. Mini metro van and a stihl 023? 25+years ago
22. Just looking at your list of directors. I was a Writtle with Mark Watson. Interesting to see where we,ve all ended up. (Somewhere in the mix I seem to have ended up back where I started)
23. Hi, like the fresh tree background. You must be up near Northern Tree Services direction.
