  1. Well planned out and nicely executed.
  2. Last years show was worth the trip and we're planning a run down this year also. Specialist show and event, good climbing competition and Husqy timber sports display. The ploughing show is a whole other thing. Largest outdoor and agricultural show in EUROPE! 270 000 visitors last year. Another great show but the arb and forestry stuff is mixed in with the rest in parts although there is a dedicated area too.
  3. These guys supplied us with 2 complete locking units including frames for our chip truck. I think they door replacement locking mechanisms by themselves if you're happy with the existing doors you've got Horsebox windows-horsebox bonded windows-horsebox doors Transport Windows Knottingley, horsebox windows bonded horsebox windows, jockey doors, groomes doors, locker doors, fibreglass products, catering doors, catering windows, trailers, catering trailers.hors
  4. We've never had to get parts. It came with a spare set of hammer flails and blades. We did once try and contact them to get a part for the safety bar but ended up making it our selves. It was eric hunter dealership them, but we kept getting put thru to someone who spoke french when we got transferred. I think they're still the dealer? Parts should be available as they're big on mainland Europe. It's a handy we chipper and very powerful for its size. It has a great throw from the spout.
  5. We have the diesel one. Had it about 4 years but keep it for lighter, low ground pressure sites or restricted access sites. We tow it behind a mule ATV. Not a bad we chipper/shredder. Single feed roller so you need to prep the brash well. It is rather noisy for such a small machine, and not as quick as a big chipper (obviously I know). Only done about 150hrs from new. Good for brash, pruning soft material up to about 75mm maybe 100 if not hard wood. Has some very clever features.
  6. We got a set of 40" stihl hedge cutters earlier this year. They are only the trimming version not rough cut. They are excellent for big flat face hedges that are trimmed regularly. They're not as heavy as they look and make very quick work of big manicured hedges.
  7. We,ve a 200zx schliesling on the back of of our L3300 Kubota about 32hp on the shaft and it runs sweet. It's the one in our avatar. Makes the tractor a bit light on the front but a very solid machine which hasn't missed a beat in 7 years.
  8. They only clump form when they are content. Under stress they run this was just after we started, by the time we'd finished we'd tracked 80% of a garden 10m x 7m ripping out a mesh of bamboo roots in the top 200 mm of the soil profile. Took away around 750 kg of root and soil attached. The parent plant is in the top center of the photo in the gap in border
  9. We'd a garden to re-turf, bamboo on one corner which had died back. Before it died back it went viral. Took off across the garden every which way. Treated it for 6 months with roundup. Absolutely no effect at all. Ended up digging, tracking and ripping it all out. That with an Arundinaria species.
  10. Cordless site arc lamps in B&Q at the moment also in screw fix. About £25 run for about 2 1/2 hrs on a charge. Wouldn't be bothered with generators and cables now we have these.
  11. We got one earlier in the year. I find the wheel drive a bit under powered. How do you find yours.
  12. I,d be straight on to the UFU about that one. It's probably contestable. All to often the enforcement agency doesn't have the correct information to hand and mistakenly starts writing tickets.
  13. I know the ifor is 585 kg on their spec sheet, we've never had to weigh in the dale trailer as it's only used for a specific machine that only weighs 700 kg so never near its payload to worry about overloading. A call to Dale would answer it for sure.
  14. We have both. As a direct comparison we have a new ifor ramp back 10 x5 and the equivalent dale Kane. I have to say the new ifor is better than the last one but it's still not as strong or well thought out as the dale Kane one. The dk trailer has a longer, stronger and better sprung assisted tail door. The floor is twice as thick and draw bar is slightly longer which seems to make it easier to tow and reverse better. There is heavier steel running thru it and the side panels are heavier gauge.
  15. 8x5 ifor gross 2700kg unladen around. 700- 750kg not sure if that's electric tip or not. I,d guess the dale Kane one is marginally heavier. Give Dale a ring and get it straight from the man who makes them, he'll have all the spec,s to hand.
  16. No import charge, they're made in Northern Ireland, all part of the UK&NI, just a sea crossing to make, or countrywide freight services would bring it over for a small charge.
  17. Excellent trailers, well put together, strong floor and plenty of steel which is well galvanised. I,ve been down to the factory. Good set up, built by a company that's in touch with its market.
  18. Sage payroll. Been using it for about 20 years without issue. Excellent support available - at a price though.
  19. You're looking at one day plus assessment for pa1 and same again for pa6 based on the guided learning hours on the schedule. If you'd been registered before the end of last year 2013 you'd probably have been covered by a pa6a
  20. Well if nobody else is going to mention it........David, excellent piece of work in Arb Climber Issue 5. Well written, excellent photographic backup (of course) and very informative. An article worth keeping for reference. Nice one.
  21. Not sure I'd go for this. We've both formats and the self powered units are much handier and convenient. Another option might be a larger capacity pto chipper for the tractor. Just a thought. What self powered chipper do you have at the moment?
  22. Depending on the locations, wrights in N,ards, Manleys at Braniel. Many of the hauliers are keen for business as there's not much stone being hauled. last time we'd to move volume timber we sold a lot straight from site. It went onto roll-off container skips. Which was great for loading as they left them off, and they nice and low to drop timber into. Or if you're still looking a tractor we've a very clean MF4355 c/w loader you can have a look at.
  23. There a numerous restrictions on running a tractor dump trailer in NI some similar and some different from the mainland. That said vosa are drawn to these type of combinations. The biggest problem are the multi agency check points they set up now. You'll have vosa, customs for diesel, NIEA and the PSNI for anything else. They nearly wet themselves with excitement when they see tractors and dump trailers coming down the road. There are exceptions mostly agricultural but they are not straight forward. I,d hire in an 8 wheeler and have it drawn in 3 loads for £200.
  24. Why not do your additional trailer license and then you can tow up to 3.5t gross without an operators licence in Northern Ireland depending on your vehicle.
