  1. yeah no extension just two peice boom, its a small crane p3151 junkari
  2. sent them email this morning - tad scared at part cost i am going to receive!
  3. so mr loler man came to visit work today and we have a small issue on our junkari p3151 crane, the end of boom section has a bend in it, box section has taken a knock or shock load and flexed. mr loler says its fine to use just monitor for crack appearing so at least not off use list! does anyone have any experience of importing a crane section from sweden/finland where i think junkari are? or ability to find a parts diagram so i can begin process of tracking down part. not allowed to heat and beat straight/cut out and weld etc without metal re hardening and then weights and measures load lift test - which i suspect equalls scary money! so i figure see about replacing part which looks fairly ok, undo a bolt to drop grap and rotator, 4 pipes at a bracket to undo, and a pin/bolt at top end ( havent looked to see how ram holds/mounted) while holding with tractor and slings, really only two physical connections plus one end ram.
  4. its very handy having a winch on trailer and fed by decent power from anderson socket. would say brace up wherever you anchor winch to well in all directions as the bending forces are scary, if my log splitter jockey wheel catches on a lip when pulling up taildoor and i dont stop winch immediatly you see trailer flex - cant imagine would take long to break something!
  5. so i have a removable atv winch for my trailer, got a mount made on headboard so it drops onto a towball to lock in on, see goodwinch for ideas wiring is either easy or super akward, for me its easy ish as i have two batterys and a split charge system so winch runs off aux batt however if you can do some simple wiring, like run two cables its easy get a live and earth run to rear somewhere convenient, either inside or out but inside is good, say in boot? look up anderson sockets like recovery trucks use and stick one of those on end get cables fitted from winch with mated one, ie male to female and just plug in when needed with vehicle running can do some pics maybe if i can figure out how thurs evening.
  6. stove still going strong here, this cold and wet is miserable so theres no way i am stopping burning until temp gets into double figures and stays there and we see good 8hrs of warm sun daily at least.
  7. from experience properly dead yew timber is harder than hell to cut and really dulls saws so i would guess the sooner done while green the better.

    Covid-19

the 15 min watching after vax is for severe life threatening reactions to its contents, ie things leading to anaphlaxis which is obviously bad! so have had the pfizer about 4 weeks ago and had mega small reactions as expected, arm wasnt too impressed the next day - normal every vax i have had felt tired for 24hrs - million miles better than the typhiod jab i had yrs ago which put me in bed for a day site had a wee lump which was tender to touch for few days but hey ho thats sod all.
  9. we have used a 350 for lot of years and never felt it would cope with anything more than 15 inch bar. unless always doing stuff thats way over 15 inches i would drop down from 18.
  10. if theres no off shelf security available that isnt terrible and you have a concrete floor in unit where its stored options are good. take to a local blacksmith and ask him to make you something to slide over head and a anchor point for floor, or a wheel cover that bolts to floor also. certinaly country ones around here could knock something up easy that would take a decent effort to cut to bits - which at least means insurers have no easy get out clause. if not a solid floor do what i did for part of trailer security and dug a huge pit, put a chain with rebar through links into soil into it and then packed with over a cube of concrete. loop around part of trailer and a very nice padlock - needs a good grinder or gas torch to cut. layers are your friend
  11. honestly think eggs comment is bravest yet on this site - nearly spat out my beer reading it...... dont disagree but sooo brave
  12. oh lord who ever wrote that list must have been part of a course i did recently..... carbon footprint reduction, data protection, fire safety, and soooooooooooooooo many others for patient transport work in ambulance. its like throw every possible module and some more at it and see what works
  13. big milwaukee battery drill should do no bother, couple batterys
  14. oh to have that luxury, cant comment on whos best but theres an awful lot to be said for list everything you want, include anything thats luxury items and see what it costs, bet answer is scary we have a junkari trailer and crane, fairly base model and i know what i wish i had been able to afford wider and taller tyres to aid with soft or rocky ground more than 1 pair bolster pins - super restrictive in terms of lenght of timber so we have to max out crane to get 3m bits on steering drawbar is good lightboard we need to fit every time go on road and store when in woods to avoid smashing it (very easy to smash) is a massive pain in rear, get built in lights and make sure they are in bombproof mounts to save having to fix all the time get more worklights on rear of tractor, and sides of it too to avoid any areas of shadow, also lights on crane, again armour the mounts and cable runs get tie down points on chassis for road work, more the merrier dont get a valve block that has to be lifted onto 3 point linkage of tractor every time you want to use - gets old fast, spend more money on electrohydraulic type so levers permenant in cab and just needs plugged into trailer make sure seat revolves in tractor for comfort forest gaurding on tractor is very very good plan
  15. so you want magnetic lights for front like would normally stick on rear of a trailer but with white or clear lenses that i guess only do indicators since on front? or can be set up to only do indicators ?
  16. must see if i can dig out pics somewhere i have of female climber friend doing worlds skinniest birch tree take downs for me, she did a cracking job on trees that were definitely no fun, not high but no way to drop for a road and bt wire. serious advantage she was young, keen and considerably lighter than me!
  17. one of our local shops was all but cleared of beers by wed - crazy, now local tesco and morrisons are restricting amounts folks can buy to try and slow it down. complete joke as its not a lockdown just some restrictions. going to buy an extra case beer mainly cause got some hols coming up and few extra bits from butcher but its been two months since was last there so freezer needs top up. especially bacon , sausages and black pudding for lazy day breakfasts
  18. i know my work will only say now folks worked there from day x to day y and thats about it - crazy culture where cant say good or bad now without fear of somebody complaining.
  19. ooooh yikes what happened there Ironmike
  20. am sure if you supplied crane, engine/powerpack and trailer a really good ag engineer/blacksmith could put together in a way its never going to be an issue - too far away for one i use to help sadly.
  21. Rip Felix. Condolences to family.
  22. The 110 defender is an amazing car to drive, been using one through covid work and boy i love it. Fully loaded so all the options i reckon. ultra comfy and nice to drive. goes like a rocket ship and stops like somebody tied it to bowels of earth, a big step on brakes is frankly brutal but works. 8 speed auto is incredible, very nice to shuffle around town in or boot on twisty roads.
  23. wish my 357 was heated grips model so thats a cracking deal for one.
