    One of my young shavers unexpectedly worked up enough of a sweat before lunchtime today to remove his shirt and dazzle passers by. Is this a first for 2013?

    Sometimes if i havnt heard back after about a month,and i notice that the job hasnt been done,i ring them and ask if theyve had any more thoughts about the tree/hedge/connies what have you. They either say oh yes when can you do it,or i accepted a quote 1/4 of your price.

    I zip clipped my gate permanently open to make it that little bit easier to use,as i have a touch of rhumetism in my right hand,and every little helps.

    Depends on how hard they work, and how long the day is. £10 an hour plus if they're draggin and chipping all day. Considerably less if they spend a lot of time rolling fags up,or stand chatting to the customers half dressed teenage daughter for long periods of time.

    when i was a kid we never even had a kitchen.

    young friend of mine has not had a call in 3 weeks.He advertises heavily,employes a groundie as and when,has old but well maintained kit,and works his socks off when he does win some work. So when that long awaited call comes to price up a days job for two,will he quote £300 and hope to get it,or say £500 take it or leave it mrs?

    Tell them to dip each log in a pail of water before throwing it on fire.

    The client is asking Dave for a day rate,so normally that doesn't mean getting the biggest plant in and doing it all in a day. All cord and logs left on site,so lot ground saw work,and only 'top & lop' to be burnt up.
