  1. You all have camera phones ?. Just film them and snap every suspicious number plate. Also rear cams for vans are cheap now buy one and everyone who pulls behind you is on film ?. Also buy the cable lock alarms, you can get 5 meter ones and lock all tools to the truck, if they try a loud alarm starts . Failing that buy some form of projectile and call it ratting
  2. I had this recently, oh my god where do they find these fecktards. I was most upset by the imbercile operating the pump i even showed the can and guess what its cos it was white.... yes you herd right fuel can racism is rife in essex. The petrol can was the wrong colour and refused service. But im not the victim here i feel great pity for the person who is unable to differentiate a petrol can because its white or see through technically.
  3. Well where is this one day refresher advertised id like the info for future Are there any trainers in the south east that can back this or is it just forum talk ?.
  4. Well i just passed cs41 so how do i upgrade that in 5 years ?. I know ill spend 3 days losing money to my competitors while they show me a spider rig again... Perhaps if the refresher was a days retraining i would think thats not to sour, but redoing the course is a fkucnig psis take. We all know its jobs for knobs haha jokes but rather than moan lets do something about it outline a suitable refresher. I agree on cpd ie cs31 5 years later cs32 etc which is how i have done it but after you have all the courses it should just be one day for each ticket ie cs41/32/40 each only a day But what do i know im just a chump that climbs trees in the rain for crap money once you remove tax, insurance, wages, expenses, never ending training
  5. I think the op thinks paying minimum wage for hard graft demands 110% lol. Im sure if the op pays his labour what he gets then I'm sure they would moonwalk back and forth. In the real world where there are no unicorns and care bears good guys don't come cheap, I expect a steady pace of work with little rests and an acceptable amount per drag. If someone picks up a girly pile they get whipped, if someone is unusually slow or i hear i love you to.... they get whipped. If the guys work hard to finish the job and you put another one on top without an incentive your a pisstaking boss, My lads get looked after, they work hard they get rewarded. We have a finite amount of energy per week. one hard day makes the next slower and so on. Manage your work better and the easy days follow the hard. Any way since i brought a muck truck the lads have upped their game since i said heres your new replacement, it carries twice as much, cost £5 a day on fuel and never moans or fatigues haha....
  6. Lets hope you never need to test it, regarding car insurance yes the person affected by a drink driver recovers loss from their own insurance then their insurance company seeks recovery from the drunk drivers insurance company whether they recover the cost is debatable. Regarding public liability i know i must be competently trained, so if im dismantling a tree with rigging i need cs309/41 without it i am unable to prove competency. Also the aa require it for assessment i think. I also need loler if it is equipment failure that causes any accident. ask your insurance company if they will send via post or email confirmation that they will cover you in the event of a serious accident even if you are not competenty trained and have no loler records ?. Let me know what they say Im not digging you buddy just stuff i have learnt after my latest course
  7. What a sad little comment, if i wanted it my company ticks all the boxes if thats what you mean. My point has been made the aa does not represent the trade, and huck i agree my point was that the arb approved guys seam to think they offer a better service, they don't and the point with certificates is they comply with HSE which does mean a better service should someone cock up a dismantle without the ticket the fact is the HSE will prosecute and your insurance has every reason not to pay out for any damages which leaves the customer liable so yes that is providing a better service not just quality of workmanship which was not my point. I agree fully that there are unqualified guys that are at the top of the skill set, the point again was that if either company had an accident i would offer my customers more protection than the aaac company without the relevant ticket which imo is offering a better service in terms of protection for the client. Most qualified tree surgeons who are sbo always do the best work as their livelihood relies upon this so quality is rarely an issue and customers ideas on quality are not the same as a tree surgeons. Any way enjoy sunday i hope this post at least offers a useful bit of info and maybe one day the aa will be more proactive in promoting the trade not just the paying few, it would be nice to have a representative that actively advertises not just aa approved but all qualified operators, regarding good working practices the aa do not guarantee there members quality so its a mute point. Quality is the choice of the customer and the contractor and no one agrees
  8. Well surely they would be doing what they do now then, since arb approved contractor standards are shocking considering they are meant to be the top of the game, we all know they are not ?. Were not talking about workmanship but qualified tree surgeons, the aa represents not even 10% of this industry so if the aa has any right to suggest it represents this industry then yes they should represent all qualified tree surgeons. You comment suggests all NPTC qualified tree surgeons provide bad workmanship ?. I know at least one aa contractor that employs guys with less tickets than me doing dismantles, well surely that makes me provide a higher standard and better service fully covering my customer since im qualified to do dismanling and my insurance is complied with regarding competently trained etc?.
  9. The power company should always gladly do shut downs foc or the customer should have the right to charge the power company for obstructing there tree from being removed. Either that or they foot the bill and pay for any removals or works to every tree there lines are crossing. As for a refresher these should be no more than a days re training at most as i get bored being taught what i leant 5 years ago. If the AA had any real reason for being then it should be at the forefront of promoting not just its little club but every NPTC qualified tree surgeon in the UK or maybe we should all club together put some funds up for advertising etc and create a true industry representitive that looks after all tree surgeons that are qualified ????? sit on ya arse, dont moan when nothing changes.....
  10. Recently did cs41 aka309 there really friendly, experienced staff and really nice digs. Plus reasonable price.
  11. If your clever this is an oppertunity for you to whoop them but thats for you to work out how ;D
  12. This is just a total piss take, another tax for woodchip which by definition is not waste, neither are logs ?. The arguement its only so much is pefetic !. Its yet another cost along with loler which offers nothing to me or my customers but an increase in running costs. So its more money i have to earn that gets stolen by jobs worths in corporate run england. Technically i transport humans in my truck and they contain **** so i guess that will be classed as hazardous waste
  13. I did this job actually, within two hours, which means you charged £400 for two hours work hahaha thats why you lost the job !. The customer asked for this tree to be reduced away from 2 phone lines either side rubbing against branches. Also the house and roadside. i had no choice but to cut back to previous pollarded points as there was no growth shoots at all within 20-30% of the top, every branches that could be reduced to a growth point was. Who ever did it last cut off all side limbs and ruined the tree, you try to shape a pollarded tree missing one side of its limbs ?. Thats why one lower side has shape an the other does not?. It makes me laugh at the hypocrisy of some people tho By the way no tpo and a very happy customer, don't blame the tree surgeon for doing what they get paid for. And spike i do love ya buddy but you Biatch look on my facebook page you will see the before and after.
  14. Ill post a pic tomoz, if they are all like it then fair enough im just hoping i dont have a dangerous saw able to strip my hand at any given moment !. Was really after other users stating they have the same 2-3 threads showing appreciate you taking the time to view buddy .
  15. Lol yes i went over the entire machine before use im fussy about new stuff, the way i see it the cover worked loose because only half the nut can screw onto the short bolt. I just wanted to know if every other 540 had 2 or more threads showing ?. which would indicate either thats how they have been made or my one is a wrongen.
  16. I rang them asap and was told it was normal ?. I did send a picture but its been bugging me so your saying the entire nut screws over the bolt with no exposed thread ?.
  17. My new 540 threw off the chain cover the day i first got it, it was tightened correctly etc just to confirm that. I noticed the nut only screws on about or just over half way on the bolt leaving over two threads unconnected. To me it seams odd not having a bolt that screws completly onto a nut ?. Can any one with one of these confirm there bolt does not screw all the way in ?.
  18. Charged interest from the date the 30 days expired, i believe you can legally do this now as some companys i contract invoice me with a late payment fee ?.
  19. [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=kcXr2H7m_t8]Stihl ms201t vs Husqvarna t540xp - YouTube[/ame] No bias here have a look, yes im aware of the one handing but sometimes you just have to look danger in the face and enlighten the unenlightened.
  20. I have run it dry all it needs is a good rev then its fine, im really happy with it so far but lets see how 3 years of work affects its parts. There are a few flimsy look bits on it that look like they could break but we shall see
  21. Id say pay half up front half on finance, halfs the stress lol. Finance is how 80% of business run, the cost of goods makes outright purchases extreamly difficult. Its alway handy to have some finance running as this will help your credit score.
  22. After having the chain cover work loose and slap up the saw its actually really nice to use. Took down a pine with 6 inch limbs and was enjoyable to use.
  23. Learn the basics of website building, coding etc, saves me shed loads in changes i make myself. Every company should have a website, the problem is as more do the web becomes like a giant yellow pages and the work spreads thinner reducing its worth. But that's life doo daaa dooooo. Have a look at my site i can change everything on it at will, did not cost much and i receive much praise for it, don't copy it tho cheeky be creative and unique.
