  1. Noted buddy adding this to my invoices (please see our terms and conditions viewable at http://thtreeservices.co.uk/business-terms/. If you do not have access to our website please ask for a written copy of our terms and conditions.) That the stuff ?. Also ill be adding definition of tree removal ie down to 2inches above ground level and stump removal down to 6-8inches aprox. Ones arse needs more covering.
  2. As it happens my workers were in the truck as we pulled up outside and she explained what she wanted and they herd the price as it was all urgent work, normally i tell em to feck off while i price etc. Appreciate it any way mate still took the time to chat with me . Ill send the invoice via email, then if no joy send a letter of intent also indicating that the tree will be returned if not paid for and see where that gets then just for the cheek of being conned ill file a small claim (its not about the money).
  3. I would have mate but that was not what they was after it was a seriously rude person ranting in a way that was way out of proportion for the heinous crime of doing what they asked for. The option of doing it was not even mentioned just a rant then hung up. Appreciate the input any way lads will be upgrading my terms tonight.
  4. My terms are on my website and they found me through the site, also my invoices/quotes do state terms apply. If you have any suggestions mate im all ears re upgrading my terms on the site. The biggest problem is this was a verbal agreement, tho the person is not complaining about the cost just that the stump was not included. I stated you asked for a low price and just for the tree to be removed and i did state we will cut it down to ground level and that's a quote from me to the person but verbally.
  5. Thats fine but i have not charged them for the stump removal, i have only charged for the tree removal so i have honoured my end of the agreement. The only misunderstanding is they assumed the stump was included but i did not charge for it so they have not had to pay for it. Therefore surely i have kept to the agreement. Its not my fault or liability if they got it wrong just like if i buy an ipad an assume it comes with a case and it does not i cant then refuse to pay for my ipad because i misunderstood ?.
  6. This is exactly what i said felix as i do every single time. But it was verbal as it was a fallen tree and we did it asap for the person. The thing is if they don't pay then do i bring back 2 ton of their tree which they have not paid for the removal of ?. The stump is tiny and i did not charge for it, i have offered to do it at cost as a gesture of good will as im being the bigger man . The words from the customer was im a little hard up so do only what needs to be done, so i never offered stump removal as that saves on the price for them. Luckily i have before and after pics of the job so even in court my price can be seen as a reasonable price for the work, but it bugs me when you go out of your way for someone do a great job and they try an con you. Felix your a man in the know heres my terms on my website http://thtreeservices.co.uk/business-terms/ does that cover me or do i need to amend asap?
  7. Hi first time i have had this but here it is. Customer asks for the tree to be removed, so i remove the tree only. Customer calls to say they would also want the stump removed after the job has been done explaining that it should be included even if it is not specifically asked for ?. They assumed it was in with the price. I say it is a separate job and you did not ask for the stump to be removed but ill do it at cost because im a top chap, the customer is trying not to pay for the tree removal ?. Where do i stand.

  12. It will be a very very long time before they ever consider a requirement for certification for power tools and chainsaws, why ? because they would no longer be able to flood the market with cheap unqualified labour. The best way to control prices in a market is overload it. Builders for instance how many are qualified ? none most are jacks of all trades masters of none. If everyone needed certifications for each tool the cost of services would sky rocket, cheap euro labour would also need the certifications which would reduce their ability to work cheaper than uk workers. And we have a big flood in jan of cheap labour coming into the uk so expect wages to drop again or remain at a constant low for the next 10 years.
  13. Been using top handles for 10 years and the t540 is my preferred one, 200t seam to last a year before running crap, 201 has no mid range guts when chogging 12inch wood. the 540 does need a throttle up when cold, takes 10 seconds. dont like the chain cover bolt imo totally shite only half screws on. very nice vibration dampening. fuel tank level window, actually useful. dont like the strop clip looks weak but has not failed. the under side of the chainsaw looks like it can wear out fast, due to plastics. when you remove the chaincover you have to reset the tension every time on the stihl it dont need resetting. the stop button is crap always need to push it many times which is dangerous imo. air filter remains cleaner than stihl for alot lot longer. dont like having to oil the sprocket , the stihl dont need it. so theres my review its top of the list but it has its niggles. I have a 200,540,201 and use each full time so its a valid opinion.
  14. Quote: A professional is someone who has completed formal education and training in one or more profession. The term also describes the standards of education and training that prepare members of the profession with the particular knowledge and skills necessary to perform the role of that profession. Personally anyone who has received NPTC training and is competent in their line of work and carries out the work to the standards set out in bs3998 Is a professional tree surgeon. I'm speaking from an arborists point of view some have degrees which cost alot of time and money but not one of my customers would care and certainly would not pay extra just because of it which renders and higher qualification imo a total waste of time and money. But some people like being taught and some like earning money
