  1. Hi mend so your saying they are bringing back the 660 until they fix the 661 ?.
  2. Lad needing a 3ft ish saw was keen on the 661 but clearly it's a shizzer, can anyone recommend a better saw equivalent of 660 ?. Thanks
  3. Great work, all paid and got to play with a crane, always great fun.
  4. Haha still making me chuckle
  5. Introducing the latest silky mini motorised saw. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI3YFSyO_X0&feature=share&list=UUOZUIvcotvCXNTBz0RDCWDw]The worlds most powerful chainsaw - YouTube[/ame]
  6. All this British worker bashing is pathetic, we work 6 day weeks sometime 7 days in a 7 day week, so where is the lazy in that ?. The only reason why larger company's employ the polish is because they are cheaper that is it. They are greedy and don't want to pay a man a fair days wage. If a polish worker is not 100% fluent in English I'd consider that a huge health and safety risk at work over a British worker. Good luck to anyone wishing to work hard and earn, but jog on with the lazy British crap. Also sounds like they are driving over loaded on car brakes what could go wrong.
  7. I would always employ an nptc qualified person over lantra every time, nptc is independently assessed where lantra hand the certificate of training at the end of the training (no proof your any good just that you attended). Unless I'm corrected ?. Every employer asks for nptc, Lantra is better than nothing but you want nptc it's more recognised as industry competence.
  8. Mewps are handy but in reality they can only be used in very limited situations. Climbing is still the number 1 method for tree work. Id rather dangle off a tree, than stand on the end of a metal pole. I trust natures engineering more than man when it comes to tree access.
  9. Im clueless, was all eager to buzz up my new 661 but now ill make do with my 441 until its availible. Maybe stihl have a recall coming up.
  10. Went to order the 661 but stihl have stopped selling atm ?.
  11. Is this a good saw, looking for a replacement 30 inch plus. Does the husqy equivalent compare.
  12. Think ill stick to a lock jack and wait for a year at least to see if we have any more incidents. Always great to see new kit but with the failures, this is something the first few will be test piloting, regardless of the company's own controlled tests. And it does look heavier than a lj ?. I personally cant see it performing better than a lj, tho im happy for someone to explain that has used one as i have not.
  13. Click on my facebook link, i have added my latest reduction before and after side by side. This is my idea of a good reduction. (feel free to comment ) We use bs3998 but they are GUIDELINES and unrealistic in every case. You have to use your common sense and cater to the customer and the tree, rarely does the tree complain as much as the customer ( the nail that sticks out gets hammered ). So we cater to the customer and offer advice but you cant force it on them. No reduction is the best reduction, but we are employed because humans decide to plant big trees in tiny spaces. I love those stupid decisions because i get to work in great places.
  14. Most if not all customers ask for a reduction in size and to shape it. To me leaving natural branches extending beyond the rest of the crown is sloppy but thats just my perspective, plus my customers over the years have shown its not acceptable to leave bits sticking out. Pick your height and reduce in line with the natural structure of the tree or species of tree. Reducing each branch by a set length is much easier and requires not much more skill than being able to reach the branch being cut. The different method i use produces great shapes and i have been back over 8 years on reductions that have reacted in a good way, low epicormic branch growths and no snapped out branches etc. Less is more from the trees perspective.
  15. If you cant handle banter you can't handle working for me !. Men only apply
  16. Profit in tree surgery is in decline, it has been since the 80s. Without boring the tits off everyone the end of easy credit has happend meaning our customers no longer have the ability to spend as they please resulting in far less work and much cheaper prices. RUN FOR THE HILLS While your there ill be sawing away ;P
  17. Some info is generic, i write quotation or invoice on the top where it says to and then at the bottom received via which method of payment means one copy for everything other wise it gets expensive >
  18. Lol should of explained they are quote forms and invoice forms ;P
  19. New invoices pointing to our terms of service, hopefully stops misunderstandings .
  20. Covered this question buddy, but all sorted and paid for doing the stump foc and were all sailing again
  21. I suspect im the victim of this persons shitty day perhaps, ill find out today if they pay the invoice. you could easily assume they just did not want to pay for a tree gone over in the storm so are trying it on.
  22. I'm covered under english law any way the terms are there so people know what to expect, and they are on our quote forms. If apple has terms and conditions im very sure they mean it and dont do it for fun. If a customer signs my quote agreeing to the work they also agree to the terms of the contract ?. In this case its verbal which is still a contract, unless the person saught to obtain services via fraudulent means ?. You miss the point i would have offered to do the stump it was not even suggested, just a rant followed by hanging up and i was polite the entire time which was bloody hard. Still ill follow the process as its good to learn for the next one. We have 99% great customers but now and then you do get some try to either try and add on loads of extra work and expect it foc or try not to pay the agreed amount. If you say to the customer ill juts leave the last tree in the quote but id still want the full price paid......can you imagine the face on the customer lol.
  23. not a bad idea, an regarding changes to terms technically i have not i have only stated in writting what they already are. Now they cant be argued its in black and white.
  24. Business Terms - Tree Surgeon in Essex | T.H Tree Services | Tree Care updated the terms view the bottom, now includes definition of tree removal, stump removal, tree reduction. I will tidy it up asap and include all works we provide therefore it should help in future .
  25. Normally i would suggest stump removal but the customer wanted a cheap as possible price. Therefore the first way to lower the cost is exclude stump removal which is what i did.
