  2. thanks much i will give this a go as a quick fix:thumbup1: or is me having put oil in in the 1st place proper wrong?
  3. thanks for the info. i mite go for this as a good fix insted of replacement as the springs in the hubs are messed up & as a result are always locked in..
  4. lol. been told this the other week by a friend. thanks i may end up doing that as i can't see the point of these hubs too..
  5. What is the true definition of a pollard?
  6. Knut(e) & hitchclimber for me now. Did the distle thing with micro pully a few yr's ago & it dose lock up lots dependant on cord type & rope. Not that the system I now use is infalable though! Used a lockjack for about 3/4 yrs & loved it, but IMO can't beat the ropes & HC.. Best of luck & have fun trying..
  7. I have found that adding or taking wraps off on different rope diam's & constructions helps along with re dressing some knots lots during the first few climbs. Not the way it should be though! I guess this is one price to pay for a friction line with high heat tolerance?! I use it on N,E tachion with a hitchclimber & knut with 4 wraps of 8mm ocean, I find after a good stint of footlocking the knut opens up & needs an eye on it to re dress which is 2nd nature now. I use some marlow 10mm cord on a short line with the same knot & H,C on blaze as I have found ocean a nightmare on this line! however it burns out real quick if used faster! Hope I'm not repiting anyone as I hav'nt read through the post yet..This is all my own findings & I expect alot of differance in peoples reactions to the use of this cord..Sounds like after 3 months of trial & error you may have made your mind up though?
  8. Got a series 3 landy with some freewheeling hubs on the front that were leaking oil. I replaced the gasket & put more oil in & it is now worse than befor! What have I done wrong? The ball is pitted & I have smeared grease over it in a hope this mite help..
  9. Squiral damage can result in some good coronet results too:001_smile:
  10. Climbed a 1000 yr old yew in a church yard outside Maidenhead that had been carbon dated by David Belamy some yrs previos so it may have been a good few yrs older:laugh1:
  11. Wow man that is one amaizing tree! Where is it?
  12. Same as! More info please?
  13. Did some in a former 'now dead' Beatle members garden last yr. Amaizing wrk to do but alot of secuter wrk! From mem we spent 2 days on one 35'' yew over a lake. You talk about bing a sales man! most important & very impresive after 15 or more yrs of the same co starting & continuing to perform this wrk..
  14. Both opperations have their place in the world of arb. It is dependant on the tree spp, growth patern, enviromental local & cliants needs. Done properly & MANAGED corectly in the future are key points to keep in our minds & information passed to the cliant as to the end result WILL need future care & responcibilaty from them to the tree & all who live around it. I tend toward the thin side of pruning & reductions I perform most of the time are mostly drop croch reductions. After care is key with any pruning wrk imo. An example of this is a copper beech that has suffered with Ganoderma for the past 12 yrs or so that a co I wrk with has been carrying out pruning opperations in this time, from 15% reductions, go backs to thin & futher reduce in later yrs with the last time I worked on her being a 50% reduction about 4 yrs ago. She is still standing & living & giving the cliants a few more yrs of enjoyment of a once magnificent tree.
  15. Proper nice gift that i'm sure will keep on giving:thumbup:
  16. Let nature take it's path in areas such as this:001_smile: prehaps not that usefull or lawfull but it is what I feel. Some educucation in the form of info boards ect to inform people who would like to know should be visable. Big warnings to ALL that enter expressing DANGER:sneaky2: Great thred hamma:thumbup1:
  17. Have the strech air at the mo, but will try these if lighter than them this summer. Streach air have & do last well. I wouldn't bother with stihll trousers as they seem to fall to bits as soon as a twig rips em a little. Sure you prob know all this alraedy though..
  18. I got asked to suck a ladys nipple once! I found that rather strange as she was in her L8 50's.. ENOUGH!! So0rry:blushing:
  19. How much use has anyone had of one of these? Seems like a logical feed back post 2? I would like to £ one as oposed to the GRCS or HOBBS. 1 the £ & 2 the shock load from people who have little skikll in the loads & ect puty onto such devices! It seams to me that this device is fair fool proof with idoit margens factored in for co's that can't be botherered to train their persons in good & safe wrk practices! However in the right hands this lower system seems to me the ultamate in fwd thinking rigging opp's..
  20. Me thinks alot of our rants are born of this womb:001_tt2:
  21. WOW! You know Harry Thomes? AKA the bear? Nice wrk..
  22. Ask the Bb boyz on this one! From Robin hood & b4 to.....well I got no clue as I not a movie buff, but sure the latest is going to be a block buster coz of the loc...
