  1. Is that youtube recoates then. shame his hobbs work had to go though.
  2. Hey Grant, all goes well in these waters. Work has been slow but picking up now. Good to hear you all well. Our kids mostly doing the school thing for the mo, apart from when we pull a sicky for them to go do other things.

I was thinking of a new climbing line soon. If you rate the imorai that good enough for me. Did you go orange? L8rz dude:001_smile:

  3. so the link is reg coates tv then right? watched his stuff hear & have been well impressed with his pro filming & tree operations:thumbup:
  4. Has the GAS board thought of paying a SKILLED prof to stand in the area of the leaking pipe with a leaf blower from an UN-SKILLED arb crew to disapate the fumes?! i'm sure they can find lots as we are all under the same semi pro trade banner. Can't wait to get to the job site & do my best to kill everyone about:laugh1:
  5. Had you been rubbing em or taking the piss? Not sure how true the phrase is though? 'taking the piss' An old Norsk one as I am inclined to belive. Have you heard of it?
  6. cheers for heads up. sure we have lots down this way but info is always better given out from sound folk what you meet hear & their than read in propoganda papers ect. it's all about keeping comunication open & free between us all.
  7. ben-jammin, that quote was in ref to swooop link. not ment to confuse your comment off the vt. I have found the same with the knut if that is the right knot I am on about. A top knot imo
  8. It looks like a knut from the pick. Am I wrong? just has the bite on the other side than I put mine. Sh*t what am I climbing on! Works for me though with the hc in system:thumbup1:
  9. Time will tell as with their other attempt at a top handle. After a few months the saw would become a pile of plastic tear drop rubbish! I have seen a few chucked to the ground from up high from frustration. I can only think this may have been the same carb prob as the ms200t had. apart from that the husqu is a strong challange to other saws. Glad they made the tool clip less intergrated & got rid of the tear drop profile with vunerable spark plug & air filter cover from memory which would always fall off as soon as it looked at a twig on the way up. I only comment from a 5 min look at one of the new ones a few months ago at a co i was passing by who had it on demo.. I look fwd to a contender for top spot in top handle saws if the £ can meet or better the ms200t.
  10. Had to be done with the Ents in full front of mind:001_smile: Great thread as always David:thumbup1:
  11. Think this Ent may be a football fan:001_tongue:
  12. Any pic's of the tree? Targets ect? Line in onto a sound as you can get limb next to the trunk, run the line down the back of the trunk away from the pull direction & trying to incorperate as much sound wood on the opposit side to the pull as you can. Then terminate that end with running BL or better knot to the trunk to where you can reach. Pull from the other end. This transfers the load from the top pulling point slightly I think. Not a physics expert of tree felling one but it has worked for me in the past. Without knowing what the trees real state is in I can only say what I mite do in the pic you have painted of her. I think it has alot to do with how much pull your tractor has too. The lower the pull on stronger wood the better your chances if you know what you are doing!!??
  13. Top vid & talk through the prosess. Thanks for posting.
  14. Go faster stripes to make us all pick up the pace:lol: Can't wait:thumbup1: Lookin fwd to the matching slacks n tops to go with..
  15. Just liked the way the tree had been made a part of the kids play area with the swing atatchment along with the formal espaliar hornbeam's flanking the football area:thumbup1:
  16. How much! FU*$ing ripping the ass out of it, unless I saw wrong? Was it 1000? not to bad if so at a glance. 2 different moters also? if the pics are right?
  17. Imo any tree work that retains the tree is good tree work. Even dead standing & habitat creation in live trees 'in the right place'. As long as the tree is managed! Sorry to go all broken record & that.
  18. A friends last climb. 14 up the top of an epic tree with some epic people!
  19. It seems to be all about tree management to me:thumbup1: Cut it manage it:confused1:
  20. Point made I hope. This is what we do best...sell tree heath & longevity which in turn makes good wrk's attiude & tree health in an urban envioment..
  21. Very true. You will never change a customers mind to sound sustainable tree work if you are a truely bad sale's person.
  22. At least the ident would be spot on:001_tongue:
  23. Fantastic product yet again Reg. Have thought for many years as well as how to make life on the ground more fun, but being hung up in the trees made me lazy to this cause. This product ticks all box's. All needed now is a harness type get up to get the pull on some lighter loads more central to the twisted under one arm pull. I can see from your vid that this can be avoided from the handle & two handed use so I am in no way making light of the thought put into this day to day prob. Thanks Reg for a well needed bit of gear that will make life alot more joyfull for the ground crews.
  24. Nice one. Good call & shows an understanding of tree structure along with the bio div importance of trees in decline & the fact that people can be introdused to the understanding of this. An ongoing education thats for sure. Great post.
