Got old steel Buckinghams with the solid pads. Good long lasting but heavy. If you are after less weight, the new stien look like a good buy for the £ but cant talk as I dont know anyone who has worn em yet.

Had a go on an Srt system the other day that I want to buy the set up for, it had a sinch in the system that allowed decent if needed. Not sure of were to get a sinch from but I liked that as opposed to other accent/ decent devices for the price I was told he picked it up for & fact it is lighter & less bulky than others.

The ones with the bull head embalm on it, I think nod sells em. Designed as rigging bags but great as climbing kit bags too. As a subbi you can clearly see all crab's & other equip on display at the end of a busy day & realize something is not with you. Very long lasting & masses of bits to put bits in/on to.

You say the sj performs well in wet & dry. I used an Lj for some time & found a poor response of use in the wet. So much so that I sacked it off after several clutches & a couple of back plates after 4 yrs or more of service for, a Hc & knut. Can't talk from experience of clutch wear on the sj but I found that one would last 4 months or so on my Lj dependent on the type of work I had on. Different bit of hard wear altogether though from the little I know of it. But defo worth a play with from what I hear..

Will give that a go, cheers. Do you twist it as you would when hanking your rope? I have not heard or done this before & hope it will do the trick as i'm out of ideas. Thanks..Fingers crossed..

I have the top line under the lower if I am interpreting right? on the knut & on some occasions the knot dress dose look as if it could contribute to a twist in the line on decent. But I also get a twist on hanking my rope for a branch throw at even short throws of say 4m or less. I worked on tachyon before this buy & had no prob's. Thanks for info I will look at different knot config's. Oh & no I don' use a swivel

I have tried that a few times with no avail. Do you think it may be because I coil it back into my bag in no particular style that may be a cause? should I just go old school & coil it around my neck in long lengths with a little twist of the wrist for each turn?

I've milked about 30cm of the end of my 45m line. The problem I have with the line however is that it twists like a mofoker all the time. I am using an 8mm armor pruss with a H c & a knut. Dose anyone else have this problem? as I am loathed to use the rope as it is. Any suggestions as how to alleviate this problem would be greatly received.

I carry a sting pen in my van. It contains amonia & works a treat for wasp stings & somthing I'm allergic to 'horse flys!!' As long as you can apply it a few mins after the stings. Sorry to hear of your reaction to the little gits! very annoying when a little thing like that can have such a big effect on people. Got to give em a little respect for it though. I do wonder though how somthing with balls that big for its size can fly though!!

Will try to, & meet up with a friend who always goes with his brother & family's for 10 days showing their various machines. A great weekend for those that want to see how machines have shaped & influenced the way we do things now days.

I hear from a gezzer i work with now & then who is into his industrial rope access wrk that it is a great knot because of bend radius & load bearing distributed through several areas. I don't know this knot yet but will learn it soon as it's mid line application sounds good from the people i have chatted to.

Thanks again Gerrit. Had some time to look up your suggestions & from the pic's & descriptions I have found they look like Lentinus lepideus ( the train wrecker) as it is known in north America for some reason. I also see it has been re-named to Neolentinus lepideus.

Are these common as a fungi living at a reasonable height on a conifer tree? As with my unfinished sentence to Tony I was am not sure if this was attached to an area on a heavily topped co-dom stem that after a sounding test with a silky saw sounding as if their may be a dead wood pocket at a point of recess around the area it was found. Or that it may have been attached to a dead branch stump. Are they dead wood sapp's? Cheers for your info
