  1. Am in the process of trying to do it with mine now, have a look here The Consumer Forums , the guys on there have given me lots of advice on various subjects and you can also find the letter templates etc you need
  2. I've got some similar to that collected from farm sales of the years, split some 8ft lengths of pop with them other year works ok if is fairly knot free
  3. I'll take arb waste for firewood, have no prejudice against size, species or shape of wood can also take woodchip occasionally
  4. Haha yep saw that thanks mate, will return the favour
  5. I've got one not had any work through it yet, biggest problem is remembering to take pics to put on it of jobs done to keep something new on there for people to see, had mine since earlier last year but have only got 15 likes so far
  6. Happy New Year Paul
  7. Firm I'm working for run all 365's as ground saws some will start with decomp some won't just seems to depend on the saw as thier all different ages
  8. Theres a tanker firm round here with the tag line "the last link in the food chain"
  9. Grandpa (mums dad) was in the Royal Engineers on map making, lost his hair when a petrol tanker exploded during an air raid, went on to be a Printing lecturer at Manchester university after the war, Grandad (dads dad) never spoke about the war but his uniform hung in the wardrobe in the spare bedroom until he died last year and we donated it to the Sherwood Foresters museum, in his latter years after 3 strokes his short term memory went and he would talk about the war but only bits and pieces, one thing I remember was that he was below decks on a ship on D day making sure everyone was ready to go when it got shelled, my Nans brother was in North Africa with the RAF I think, got some pics I inherited from when Churchill and Montgomery were addressing the troops, and also had a great uncle who was a Captain, can't remember which regiment, but apparently was very well regarded and they wanted to promote him but he turned it down, have the letters as well as his captains hat and field glasses and service revolver holster, one day when I have time I need to look through all this family history properly.
  10. Got called out to this Rowan this afternoon for the firm I work for, completely rotten at the roots, took the corner of the roof, the gutter and the tv aerial off the neighbouring property
  11. 2nd January for the firm but back doing my own stuff today
  12. Despicable Me 2 on dvd (yep I'm a big kid ) new fuel can, and plenty of beer and socks, been up and down to the farm during the day finally sat down and got xmas dinner on
  13. If theres a job needs doing I'll go do it, I'm not well enough off to turn down work, have to go to the farm morning and evening to do the animals anyway same as every other day of the year so we always have our christmas dinner on the evening, other half will probably be in work too as she is a carer, so won't affect us much if something did come in, though could do with some kip as just done 7 days straight on early starts to finish a site clearance for xmas
  14. Definition of irony, bunch of idiots on a plane, dancing to a band that died in a plane crash, Conair
  15. Yep evening Paul
  16. Right turn Clyde
  17. Agricultural contractor/fencer but recently its turned round and working 5 days a week as a tree surgeons groundie and doing my own work on weekends
  18. Cooler today and wind picking up, local metoffice forecast is giving gusts up to 40mph again next few days but at least its dry
  19. I'm not VAT registered so makes no odds that way, if they want to pay cash fair enough just print an invoice off for it and put it in the books, all goes in the bank anyway, if they hint at it when your looking at the job stick extra on the price then you can knock it off and be back at the price you want anyway and they think they've got a bargain
  20. AMC might be worth a try they specialise in agricultural mortgages for land etc so may be able to help.
  21. Ideally you need a white transit pickup then you wont get bothered
  22. Yep was talking to the younger lads at work the other day and they were on about the lack of ppe used in America etc, I pointed out when I first picked up a saw I was 14 and everyone over here was the same at most they probably had a pair of steelies on
  23. Looks like alder and yep it is good firewood, just get it dry and it will burn a treat, as a rule of thumb freshly cut alder will be reddish orange and the colour will fade as it drys to give you a guide to how dry it is
  24. Have'nt got ours out the loft yet, is that a bad thing to admit? been down and cut some for customers earlier on out my ones at the yard, other half won't have a real one in the house due to needles
  25. I've got the new husky forestry one as my old one lasted years, comfy enough to wear all day only downside is the visors don't seem as strong as the old ones, only had mine 4 months and needs new visor already
