  1. Had a look over this big old ash today, it's part of a site clearance, so much clearance under the roots I could crawl in and trunk is rotten enough to stand up inside it.
  2. Did have them on eBay a while back from China, need to get one myself as well as some other bits.
  3. At work we use husky 365xp as general ground saw, plus husky 395 xp,3120 and stihl 088 for the big stuff, for my personal use I have stihl 028,038 and Ms 251, ppe has to be a decent pair of trousers and axes I have two roughneck one a standard axe and one splitting maul.
  4. My first and only attempt at climbing, other than free climbing to put pull ropes in, was walking like John Wayne for a week afterwards.
  5. I usually use a bottle behind the van door if nowhere else, although there was an incident last year involving a groundie a climber and a Lucozade bottle, enough said, and no it wasn't me
  6. Back to finish cutting the rest of the garden hedges I started last weekend, this hawthorn hedge had been failed heavy every year until about 15 years ago, when I laid it when it was about the height it is now, then laid the new growth about 5 years later and formed the arch at the same time.
  7. Been red hot all week and high humidity, not good when we were strimming through willow herb and bramble higher than us, much cooler and windier today, heavy rain supposed to be coming in beginning of the week.
  8. L & s engineers might be able to help they carry alot of parts for older stihls, got a good website if you Google them.
  9. Found this chap on a site clearance today, he's been adopted as the van mascot, should fit in well, the lads keep telling me treetops pays peanuts lol.

  11. Well the Daily Mail have predicted, freezing winters and summer heatwaves for the last umpteen years so law of averages says they have to get it right eventually 😁

  13. Bit of strimming and hedge cutting today, got to finish the hedges on the other side of the garden tomorrow.
  14. Well a week after being told at work things are a bit quiet, we've just been asked if we would work over our annual shut down at the end of the month as we're now booked solid again, don't know if your on your but or your elbow.
  15. Haven't asked Mrs csservices opinion on this one no point provoking a Geordie uneccesarily lol.
  16. Usually take about litre and half of coffee, litre and half of squash and a bottle of isotonic, may have to rethink it soon though as going for my third blood test tomorrow for suspected diabetes.

  18. Massive thunder and lightning storm with torrential rain early hours if this morning, been blue skies and blazing sun all day since!

  20. Man I work for refuses to by any saw with electronics on it so we're still on 365xp's for everyday use.
  21. Lot cooler here today, rained heavy for an hour earlier too just as neighbours were half way through baling a field of hay.
  22. 31 here today and no breeze sweat peeing out of me stood still, was not the day to be in your chainsaw gear and running big saws, drunk over 2 litres of fluids at work and just on way to kitchen for my 7th pint of water since I got home.

Went and fetched last two trailer loads of stumps off a site clearance this morn, then got sent down to burton with the spare 200 as the one the lads had took wouldn't run so stayed down there to help with a poplar take down, got a phone call off the Mrs to say my blood test results had come and am slightly high on blood sugars so got to go for some more and then finally chap came to pick up a saw I'm selling only to find out the chain isn't oiling for some reason so got another thing to look at grrr.....
