  1. Don't put the blame on yourself for the parcel companies fault. Packages get lost a lot it seems. Just get onto their customer service and give them some grief and it will sort the issue. Don't worry about them!
  2. I'll be happy collecting a few from the US in June. Work out a lot cheaper. The 64gb wifi 3G is 829$ making it £530 and the same model over here is £649!
  3. thats what happened to one woman who said her husband couldnt buy another one!
  4. Apple sold more iPads than any of their rivals sold PCs last year. They must be doing something right. Resolution is 2048x1536. That's higher res than HD tellys at 1920x1080.
  5. Announced 15 mins ago. No name announced for it yet. But it sports Retina display iPhone 4 camera Quad core graphics Faster processor 4g support (would only be America) Same battery life And all for the same price. Released march 16th in the us, no date announced here yet.
  6. Been there done the with the metal! It's always on the biggest saw with the newest chain! Was a good vid. Enjoyed that, sore neck from turning my head though!
  7. from 2:11 the music fit perfectly! nice vid that, would love to get out and do some of that type of work!
  8. I would ignore B and C, they are both too severe IMO, although it is what can be called a pollard, its pretty much topping and i would not advise it for this tree. Method A seems the most viable, however i would not cut so low as it is still topping it. The tree has been topped before, so it will be difficult to make it look too good whichever way it is worked on. In my view, the remaining crown at the top of the tree would benefit from having a thin, to remove branches inside the canopy, thus allowing more light through, and also reducing the outreach of the canopy in all directions, which would allow light around the tree, and you will see more benefit and still have a visually appealing tree. However, to have consistent light through the tree it will have to be managed, as reactive growth will begin to close these gaps back up quickly and you are back to square one within a couple of years.
  9. Everything I said was purely In jest, no offence was implied or even thought of. I think it was a good video, a very good delivery and in a way that gets people interested. Does he have any other vids?
  10. I'm thinking prunus species, possibly plum, but not the purple one.
  11. oo err theres a bit too much wrist action in that second video! especially at 31 seconds!
  12. my contact number is 07841128366 and if you want to come down im at WA105QG, first farm on the left from the east lancs.

  13. for £1000 youd get a very good properly made splitter, we got ours for £500 off ebay, needed a few modifications, but split 25 cube of dry logs last week, a lot of it was hard beech. If you really need to use a splitter you can use ours here. or even come down and have a look at it
  14. A muk truck would be a good alternative if you want a narrow access machine. They pull well too
  15. weve got chicken in one of the oaks at the woods here! it fruited a couple of years ago, but nothing since! it was the one ed and tom climbed on the climbing day! ive also got photos of fistulina on oaks at dunham massey too!
  16. Also, can you get some good quality shots of the first few metres of the stem and around the buttresses? from the picture above it looks like theres something not right.
  17. i do agree with you rob, whether we have a habit of knee jerking with any little fung or that the north weather aint right for that softy southern bracket! ive seen a few that are suspect on my drive bys (im looking and nearly crashing now because of you tony! haha) but ive not seen anything obvious!
  18. i think there's more of an underlying problem here, looking at the branch tips, id suggest someone in the know has quick look at this oak just to check for any decay or anything causing the restricted function to the canopy.
  19. looks like merip and some kretz to me? thats a nice piece of wood, milling is something i would love to get into!
  20. oldmill: sell that rock to buy you a new toy! ipad 3 is supposed to be announced on the 7th. with a release date within a few weeks! im trying to wait until im in the USA as its substantially cheaper!
  21. it can be branches rubbing together that cause a creaking, best to get up there when its making the noise and look for it!
  22. The sugoi is a great hand saw. Very aggressive cutting and fast too. It's not good for trimming very little twigs though as it is too aggressive. The zubat is more suited to gentle reductions as it doesn't shred up the small twigs. The sugoi has a habit of digging into its scabbard and wears it out!
  23. pictures?
  24. closest now is a 441, but a 460 is a better saw. even then, a 660 is an animal with a 20" bar!
  25. ive got a couple im really pleased with that will find their way into submission!
