  1. I'm up for that David
  2. I've never had an issue with any apple products I've owned, I've had them since the second generation iPod and now I have an iPod classic, never owned any other music player, why? Because it works and does what it does the best! iPad, iPhone, iMac, iPod, all designed to be useful and functional. iPad, tablet pc, it's not a laptop, so why compare it to one? It iPhone, it's a smartphone, it does a lot, I use mine for emails, calendars and a myriad of other things. I bout the first gen iPhone because I wanted one, hadn't used one beforehand. Fell in love straight away because it was so simple and user friendly. Both parents and my sister have one because they are so easy to use, and so versatile. My dad bought one for his only employee because he can send emails to him on site, he can take photos, and other things. How is that not useful? Battery is a day, so what, cable at the bedside and plug it in at night. Wake up with a full battery. iMac, all in one pc, look how many there are now? I'd happily spend the money to get rid of a huge tower from under my desk and get a great piece of kit. I cant understand why people have to bash apple, I'm not a fanboy, but I know where they can benefit me, the cost is justifiable, they are made in china, what isn't? If they weren't so user friendly, useful and beneficial to a lot of people, we wouldn't buy them. We don't buy a £10 phone and expect it to be able to know what I've said to it then tell me the weather on a voice command.
  3. I've not noticed any round this area. But £2500 for a cat converter is pants! I thought £300 for my car was bad!
  4. I'm thinking beech or possibly Norway maple? Not ash though
  5. I'm going through mine ATM. £35/hr for training and £115 for the test. I've done 2 hours and got another two hours booked then the test the week after. Although you are right, it's costing me less than £300 in all, but I've had plenty practice!
  6. It probably just went through the wall!
  7. The 362 is a good saw to look at. Nice mid range with good power to weight ratio.
  8. Never nice to hear. Thoughts with him and those affected!
  9. I'm interested John. How much for kindling? Will probably be after a few hundred bags.
  10. We are having a few enquiries about kindling now and was wondering what's the best way to do kindling? Buy it in and make little money on it? Another option we saw was to hire a kindlett for a week and buy in a heap of cordwood to process through it. A claimed 300 bags per day with the machine we looked at.
  11. It was taken at Dunham Massey in Cheshire.
  12. I don't have a clue. But student finance will still pay for it. Maybe it will discourage so many students going and make degrees more worthwhile than a 3 year drinking game!
  13. OP. should have been clearer with that one
  14. whats the finicky bits? you dont have to worry about looking after kit. abusing the kit that makes you money is daft!
  15. i wouldnt have put my name to that tbh!
  16. thats not so bad, for the onsite course its £9000 per year as of september 2011. luckily it did not affect me!
  17. found a company very local to me who im hiring from, saves loads of time travelling to collect any others and i know it will be looked after. its a tw190 too so will work a little better than a 150
  18. im on a canon 1100D, entry level SLR, nothing too fancy, does take some great images though! Flash is good and with the ability to change lenses having an 18-250mm lens has a good zoom but you dont have to stand miles away to get a close photo. hardly pocket sized but suits me well. example pics
  19. bring them spikes and ill have those i would be sad to see so much kit go!
  20. thats just another way to get your moneys worth out of your blower
  21. backpack blower all the way! i have a battered old br420 that still goes well, and does a good job too, can happily lift moss off flags! the br600 is even better again but well worth the money, dont own one but have used one, it is a job trying to keep it pointing straight!
  22. I'm sure one of my pics of the concrete oak look very similar to your first one rob. Strangely very similar! Few pics of a big leaning oak. Very much so. Bark has come off from the tension. Slowly falling over?
  23. Maybe because your broken at the end of it and can't do anything else! Given a saw at 16(2007), I then went through saw tickets at 17 up to cs34, busy summer 2008! Climbing ticket a year later (2009), started fdsc in arb at myerscough 2009. Just about to finish the BSc top up 3rd year now. Never looked back. Can't see any aspirations in anything else. I love dem trees!
  24. Completely agree, it is good to have a separation between work and personal, hence why I've got two phone numbers. Although its a bit foggy for me ATM. The pegs are a good idea. Will be looking into them!
  25. get a pinto RIG or an ISC rigging pulley if its lghtweight stuff, however you dont want to do negative rigging with the small pulleys.
