  1. I did think about it, but its a big heavy machine and the predators are not that reliable, whats with yours any joy on ebay? I'v just gone down the route of small compact, and with the ability to access dog legs footpaths so gone for Joe Beau 31-110, for me its not about being the cheapest, and boshing stumps out but about getting in the places that others can't and then charging top rates.
  2. Yep without a dowt if you want to destroy all vegetative growth ,not selective, then Clinic Ace from Mole valley farmers is the best
  3. Hey Silky if i'v never replied its because i just don't/cann't keep up to speed with all this stuff, technology, great photos and life epilogue. Lucky man.
  4. Well a photo of me and me grinder , dogs (Dan) and the proverbial Tom mite raise an eyebrow but there could be one or two who mite knock one out , i'd be the good looking one, hair slightly silver (back hair), say no more.
  5. Should have said that thats two all singing whistles blowing top blokes both capable of downing 8 pints of Thatchers at the end of the day, AND WHO CAN BANG THE SAME WORK ETHICS OUT THE NEXT DAY, we breed them hard , fast and skilled down here in Somerset Hi Stubby , you know me
  6. Hi Stubby, your bang on with that rationalization , there are so many company's who are just happy to throw man hours at a bigger job just to keep staff busy , the best money is earned in what I call 'cramming ' thats lots of small jobs in one day, £750 to £1000 can be done in a day, is what I was doing, not every day but one or two really well planned productive days per week, down side they used to kill me. 3 to 5 small jobs in a day
  7. Could be that there is no one on the forum with the skills but I think its more to do with it being a big ask for London on those rates, sleeping in the back of a van and not eating is no fun, you can get £12 an hour wiping bums in my local care home in Somerset, and how would you afford to eat and drink on that money in London ? is this a joke my reply is not to offend just disappointed at how anyone could have agreed to those rates and then let you down at such short notice. Good luck.
  8. Thats cool, i'v never been like that, always made my own shout on the day, and i am well known for throwing hiss y fits and annoying everyone , if something is wrong then its wrong, don't care if i go home without earning a penny, or who i p==s off, set your own standards in life and stick by them . (post RM) Sorry about the R Rob all my replies are friendly

    Crane job

FM, NICE WORK, really like the 2 man aerial approach to carrying out the dismantle , how dangerous was the tree ????? it doesn't matter as long as it was safe enough for the chaps to work on and have faith in there rigging system , often we wait far too long before taking down a tree , this problem arises from distant consultants who have either forgotten there skills, or who have never been tools on in the industry. In the life of a tree the time distance between being identified as a possible danger to being a real risk is not in most circumstances worthy of consideration when high value targets are present.
  11. Is the R a reference to a category or what ? I don't think the council will be much use in re homing homeless birds in fact what are the council good for ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  12. OK, at the end of the day its down to the individual tasked to do the job, for me, once or twice in 20 years, despite all checks a nest has appeared on the ground, with chicks in it, normally Pidgin, not that i'm raciest. Its the worst thing that can happen, and you will be full of dis-pare, how you deal with that situation will sit with you for the rest of your life, best not to be put in that situation ever if you can help it, most trees will wait until birds have flown the nest before failing, you can quote me.
  13. FM MY Secrets out, good to hear from you you always bring a chuckle to me chops.
  14. Now then Mark, i,m not in the least offended I only know in part read posts, yours i try to read in full, (as i like to give you stick ) sorry totally forgot where i was going with this, FM you havent given me stick in a while, ... why not must be the red wine
  15. Best to have a close look at those other trees as well, water borne spore and loves Lime, Zeus spores from memory, love swimming road side trees best form of transportation , in the splash, very well underestimated problem with our prominent roadside trees, I have condemned much less obvious infections and all have proven to be well and truly dysfunctional.
  16. OK, ONE EYE is now closed andf I WILL have to crawl to bed.
  17. I thought you would be in bed
  18. Did you like that Jon,Tom and Silky
  19. Silky, Hi mate, just better to get ratted , we can all debate trees all day long, but if the opportunity arises to get pissed i would consider as an M.Arbor.A that a more fruitful and better way to spend your life would be on the Thatches
  20. OK this will be a first on this saw, I am the only uk Pearson to own a 150, sell it/gift it, and then regret it, it really is a **** chain, but the chain is what makes it such a well performing little saw, the 192 is its next best contender in the ultra light weight league 201, 200 its had its day, over the years for me that saw has been unreliable and disappointing. I am now going to buy my next 150 which i will keep, and just throw away the chains as they become dull. I got so lazy with my last 150 that i was using it for final cuts on all stem diameters below 300mm at or about ground level, thats bad. If i could have and used a wond the 150 would be my tool. I would smoke Harry Potter .
  21. 150 smokes the 201, only let down is file sze, pound for pound i know which one i'd rather have hanging of my waist
  22. Blake hitch is fine, a bit old school , but i lke that, its not about how you tie your rope, its about how you apply yourself , if you don't have a good recognizable Arb qualification your career prospects could be limited . If you knowledge is very limited it may even be very difficult to get your foot in the door, I get at least 2-3 enquirers a day for work all with lots of tickets and experience. I think its a sad work place at the moment, too much cherry picking going on, and not enough time spent thinking about the individual and what attributes they may bring to an organization other than filling a need or an H&S requirement. Good luck.
  23. Top advice, and I'd also say thats as good as it gets on a good day,
  24. Hey don't worry i'v been about for a while and still haven't got a clue about anything, Blake hitch now you must know more than your letting on, old school ?
  25. That ones mine, thanks, lot of work went into it, wicked tipper, air con, lazy windows, wonder leads , porn mobile , its been my retirement project for delivering £100 loads of logs and to help with stump grinding tasks, possibly a bit of roadside winching. Drives great on the road and once I get it re sign written it will pull in lots of work, huge amount of interest in it when ever I stop.
