  1. oK all i'm going to say is its the only thing that lets down an other wise fantastic little saw down, IN A BIG WAY , my fingers are not slim, and my eye sight is poor , short sighted, (blind). the only way that I could run that saw would be to throw the chain away at point of needing sharpening. Every time I tried to file it snapped and scratched me pointing finger, sometimes making it bleed
  2. Will have to pass on my last post, it didn't work.
  3. just built the the back of this, don't know if the photos or this post will work, lets see how we go.100 4246

Don't know if this will work, photos that is, just built this tipper from a TATA took 4 days works off a hand held switch, really pleased with it.
  5. I hope that did not glamorize any activity's I was involved with, it was not meant to , the whole IRA thing is very complex and controversial, at that point, time in my life , I was instructed . To do what I had been told. My views now as an old man are not so regimented .
  6. **** me thinks, at 22 I was trying to kill the IRA, don't have any pity for me as I'V had more fun in my life than most could ever dream of, and will still have, they will have to drive a stake in me hart to keep me down. See you at the Arb show, and cheer up for FS.
  7. Yep get loads of pain in the wet , damp or even any other time of year apart from summer, spent some time in Aus and with the dry heat had no pain at all, I'm now nearly 50 and the constant reliance on Brufin is now causing me to piss blood its also done my heart in, **** happens, had to give up climbing so for me now its firewood, stump grinding and fighting in clubs at xmas only. PANTS.
  8. My term sorry, i,v seen with the one your on about , but there is the push into the ground thing at the back then (spike) i assume it acts as an anchor when driving forward over the stump, correct me but its still a bulky grinder do you not think.
  9. Thanks, I am familiar with them, but a bit too bulky and not so keen on the sliding drive on to the stump. Had a 2010 for a while good bit of kit but made you sweat.
  10. Hi Mikey, good luck with your recovery, I,v had broken thumb, broken elbow, broken wrist which had metal plates put in, prolapsed vertebrata, think thats how is spelt, shrapnel, CP knee in both but not at the same time, one would get better while the good one would get worse, lost the use of my legs for about 4 weeks, that was the lowest point ever, and lots of other things , mewled by a dog as a child, and I don't know why ,maybe its because I'm tasty, been bitten and needed stitches on 3 occasions by other dogs, had lots of other stitches too, nose broke, cheek bone and ribs, Not all at the same time but over many years of having fun, I think its the price you pay, you will soon get better and forget about this low point in your life, after all there are lots who are far worse off.
  11. Good evening all, been looking at buying a new grinder, or two,Yes I like the Bandit 2250, no belts nice big wheel but a little bit chunky but great build quality, Fav was the Joe Beau 31-110 , compact, well built, auto sweep and on tracks, but then I have just come across the FSI B30-470, Its got auto sweep, narrow just a tad long, but way under budget compared to the Joe Beau, and just under budget compared to the Bandit. Has anyone any experience of this machine please, I think all will be at the trade show, FSI also do a push pivot 13hp grinder, half the price of the Bandit HB20, Don't all hop on me , I know that they are two very different machines, but on price and weight its well worth thinking about.
  12. Should of also said, if you think you can charge more then do it, if you are worth it people will pay, the industry is on its a+++, wages are way behind what they should be given the training we are expected to do and the risks we are expected to carry out.
  13. Should of also said you only get one chance in life to shine , ONE CHANCE.
  14. new boy or girl, green but with potential, £50 a day employed or £60 self employed, man or woman, who knows the job with tickets ON THE GROUND £90 to £100 a day, Man or Woman with Arial skill and fast with knowledge £120 to £150 a day, anything less you deserve what you get. PAY PEANUTS GET IDIOTS .
  15. I'v just put a tipper on my 110, it looks assume, its my retirement car. 2011 Puma, Wolfe heavy duty with just a standard low back tipper of an old Tata. really pleased with it, and me thinks its the best one I have ever seen . Took 5 days to build.
  16. As all of above, but also be very careful that you don't over load the main scaffold or stem by dropping too much from the crown in one place in one go, work evenly around the canopy, one side then the other until you pull it all into a pole, if its Meripilus, or Ustulina make sure you double your day rate, and if possible fell it.
  17. Its going to die, lots of dead Robinia around its a vascular problem which could be to do with climatic conditions or could be an epidemic problem others will pass comment, for me I really think its a vascular problem, 99% of the dead and dying sp in my area , somerset are attributable to heavy crown reductions , which then appear to recover in the next season and then quickly decline soon after spring flush, common symptoms the bark on affected trees will lift ( Tap it first ) and smell of urine when lifted . Its something we are importing on stock from abroad.
  18. Husqvarna T536LiXP just seen a used one on Ebay , must be a first on the second hand market.
  19. Thanks for the replies so far , I did think more would be about, access is the big consideration but its also got to be good at grinding and last, so build quality also very important, HB 20 is the alternative but I don't relish the idea of a workout every time I use it, I have had a few handle bar grinders in my time and they all made me steam a bit or a lot and vibration on some was also a bit much.
  20. Anyone got one of these ? if so what do you think of it, and which dealer did you get it from and what was the after sales care like , just thinking of buying one, at first I did think it looked to be slow, but as it gets into the stump its progression seems to increase, 31hp, Greenteeth, narrow access , compact, auto sweep, I did see an early post but not much was really said, Vermeer supplied it for a bit then dropped it ??? with the vat its almost 20k, is it worth it ? and is there still money to be made in stumps given that this one will poke its head in places which a lot of other grinders will not. Hopefully someone has got one and well share there experiences. Thanks.
