  1. I couldn't find my retrieval ball so I just threaded some string through a cherry tomato!
  2. Just done mine, seems good and strong Cheers dude 😀
  3. Nice one Tommy, I'll have a go at that 👍
  4. Has anyone worked out a good way to attach a retrieval ball to a rope without a spliced eye?
  5. You can sharpen the impulse hardened blades as easily as the others with the £4 diamond feather files. After all, it was only wood that made them go blunt.
  6. I'd be interested to hear how you get this done!
  7. I've fitted a nano swivel to my BDB now and it's great, it fits as if they were made for each other and it's nice always having things orientated just how I want them 👍
  8. Hello spud, thanks for all the advice👍 I put the new meteor piston and ring in last week. The saw started easily and does seem to run better but I'd say it's still a bit gurgally when I'm not pushing it hard. What could be making it only clean up on the revs when it's under pressure? Maybe a little to rich?
  9. Is that meant to be the pig farm at the end of the road?
  10. Cheers spud, the exhaust port and concave bit where the piston sticks through are now carbon free. I tried the old piston without a ring and there seems to be around 1/4 to 1/2 mm play. What I was finding with the saw was it wouldn't rev cleanly unless I was really leaning on it, almost sounded like it was running to rich - but it wasn't! Maybe it was piston slap causing that?
  11. I hire myself out as me, van & chipper to local tree surgeons for £250. I know them all and worked for them before I got the kit, so I know they won't take the pee with what goes through. I think if the public were ringing up for the same service, then at least half the jobs would be turned down due to the rubbish they'd expect to be chipped!
  12. I'll have a dabble at that spud, cheers. What's the best way to clean the carbon out of the exhaust port and where the plug sticks through? Also, can a piston and ring be worn without looking so? I was hoping they'd look lime they needed changing but in all honesty they looked fine!
  13. I've just order the one in the link, cheers for that! Do you know the best way to clean the carbon from where the spark plug pokes through? Is that the squish?
  14. Bugger, it says it's right in the packet, got it from that garden hire spares place off the net! Maybe I'll just use the old one with some sealer on it?
  15. Hiya I'm fitting a new piston to my 346xp and I was wondering if this cylinder gasket looks right? It seems to cover those little ports more than the original does?
  16. I like these longer vids for reductions, keep them coming 👍
  17. I think you'd find a big difference using an 11mm/11.5mm rope, but try the volcano and see if it works on your 13mm first - it really is great stuff 👍
  18. The good thing about the BDB is that you can use it drt and srt. If you don't get the perfect tip with the throwline, just srt up, then drt or srt to your tip and then set your srt tip.
  19. Remember you only need to buy 1m for the HH👍
  20. Get some 10mm volcano hitch cord from tree kit, it's a real game changer with the HH.
  21. Hi I've just bought a stien helmet with the yellow hellberg ear defenders. In the shop they said that the defenders were the equivalent to the chippers ones you can get. Well, today has been very noisy, at times to the point of gritting teeth! Has anyone else found the hellbergs not fit for purpose? I notice on the net you can buy hellberg reds, are they much better? I find it seems to be the seal around the ear that's the problem. A gentle push with your fingers and they seem to work better. Any solution?
  22. The female part of a popper of an old coat?
  23. Something the size of a 150 but with the grunt of a 200. A loop on the back like the husky for easy one handed hanging on harness. An off switch that's easy and quick to flick so the saw can be stopped in an instant.
  24. Keep an eye on your climbing rope to make sure no loops are created that it could catch in if it were to drop.
  25. They look great!! What's the rrp?
