  1. Top man!
  2. What does matter is the site you plan to use it on. Some sites I work on insist on biodegradeable oil, not mineral.
  3. That's a fecking shame.
  4. Start with what you need to carry and work from there.
  5. Do your trailer test. Pointless having a vehicle that will tow 3 tonnes when you can only tow 750kg. You would be better off getting a truck and a set of ramps otherwise.
  6. I had been wearing mine for well over a year when the sole split and they never asked me any other questions than photos and serial number. They never saw the boots in the flesh to check them for themselves either. IIRC. there were a lot of complaints about them previously so perhaps they figured it wasn't worth the hassle to get me to send them in.
  7. I had a pair replaced directly by Haix when I couldn't remember who I had bought them from at an APF. Same deal, pics and serial number.
  8. Stupid boy!
  9. Always been my problem, mate, being a shrinking Violet.
  10. That's favouritism, I haven't got stickers for my 357 or 181.
  11. Great tree! I bet that's home to more than a few beasties.
  12. From the few times I have met Steve, I would think sincere as well.
  13. You wouldn't be going off half cocked. It would be reasonable to expect that the manager of the branch would be keeping head office appraised of day to day developments at their hotel, particularly something out of the ordinary like this. The OP is dealing with a chain of hotels via their area representative. My point is that head office are more likely to pay more attention if they have a pressing need to do so.
  14. Or more impressively, a Defender door that stays shut.
  15. I agree on contacting Head Office but I would not give them any time as you have already been reasonable enough. They should either sort it out or you start the ball rolling. I had problems with a well known car rental company over a very small invoice a few years ago. The branch I had done the work for kept fobbing me off so I waited in their car park until the front desk was busy then went in and asked in front of all their customers for their head office details as I needed them for the court papers. I had received an email by the time I got home 20 minutes later asking for details of how to make payment. I wouldn't bother with Trip Advisor. Just make sure that anybody you know gets to hear the story of why they shouldn't do any work for this hotel.
  16. BTW, is the hotel independent or part of a chain?
  17. Don't be fobbed off if they try to say he wasn't authorised. Make sure you have your paper trail sorted out.
  18. Best thing would be to try some different trousers and boots on at a dealer's as the fit can vary quite a bit.
  19. Always sad to hear news like this. Sympathies to all concerned.
  20. Husqvarna 135 or look at the Echo range for saws around the 40cc range. Forest and Arb would be good website for you to look at.
  21. Definitely. Can be got for around £200 online. I have one for small veg clearance jobs where I don't want to carry a 357 all day and it copes well.
  22. Yes, adequate but it won't be fast.
  23. No worries, I know what you mean. It only takes the CPS to decide that there is insufficient evidence to charge the burglar and, hey presto, no misdeed so no ex turpi causa.
  24. True, we have all heard stories but how many of them are true? Unless somebody has deliberately laid a trap then there should be no claim recognised.
