  1. One of the engines was notorious for self destructing(D22 orD40?) and they seem to be developing a problem with chassis breakages. Have you thought about the Isuzu Denver Rodeo?
  2. Mazda, same as a Ranger but IME sold cheaper. I had a B2500 as my first pick up and it was great. I reckon your budget should put you in the BT50 price range.
  3. There is a defence from F v West Berkshire Health Authority which allows for the commision of an offence to prevent a worse outcome.
  4. More likely to be Joe's own brand of Population Paste.
  5. Mark, that is your best one yet.
  6. Has she got an old crack that needs fixing?
  7. That's a bit close to home. Will keep an eye open.
  8. Drop it into Spud to make it a bit faster like mine.
  9. I have an MS260 which is well over 10 years old and I turned down a swap for a 6 month old 550XP.
  10. Steve, can you hurry up with the Like button, please!
  11. How would you envisage the basic needs of a tree firm to change? Assuming, for example, that the staff members to be trained are groundies, once they are trained will their duties be so radically changed as to be no longer recognisable as their previous ones? Surely they will still be clearing, chipping, tending ropes, filling saws etc? Unless you are talking about a great change, their job would still exist and so any dismissal through redundancy would be automatically unfair.
  12. That is the crux of the matter, and I would suggest to you that attempting to force somebody to do training that would benefit your business in their own time contrary to their holiday entitlement would be injurious to the spirit of that agenda. Indeed, it could be argued that you would be forcing the employee to work involuntary overtime as it would eat into their free time, in this case their 5.6 weeks paid holiday. As has been said, unless the OP is planning to give each trained member of staff a decent raise in recognition of their increased skill set, the only way it would benefit the receiver of the training would be if they left and took those skills to a competitor or set up in competition.
  13. Quite often they were happy to go as they were suffering from TB. If they died while on service, their widow got a pension. If they died while they were civilians, no war widow's pension.
  14. Try this lot. FIRST AID LANDSCAPE SIGNS & STICKERS ALL SIZES! ALL MATERIALS! FREE P+P (FAID19) | eBay
  15. I was hoping people on here could give some persuasive arguments. Thank you.
  16. I'm asking for signatures again. The proposed new Thames Crossing in South West Essex has the potential to impact on several areas of local ancient woodland, depending on which route is chosen. It's an area of the country which is not exactly overly abundant in decent woodland so I am asking that you sign the petition below to protect what there is. Thanks for reading and, hopefully, signing. https://campaigns.woodlandtrust.org.uk/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=1743&ea.campaign.id=48358&ea.tracking.id=facebook
  17. Not quite as simple as that. Firstly, you would need to be able to justify the redundancy as per The Employment Rights Act 1996. Given that you would be looking to replace them rather than just cut numbers due to a downturn in business, you would be on a hiding to nothing. As long as the new position is substantially (75%) the same as the old position then it still is the old position. This means that you could not replace them within 6 months without first having to offer them their old jobs back. Anybody selected using the reasoning above could argue convincing that are were unfairly selected for exercising their statutory rights and take you for unfair dismissal. All in all, even ignoring the bad feeling created by such actions (and the unpleasant reputation it would give) you would be creating your own personal shi'ite storm.
  18. I would have happily sacrificed a couple of those Muntjac.
  19. Ah, the 'Brace yourself' school of foreplay.
  20. I don't think you can get them to take a holiday for training. Could you hire a mini bus and pay the staff member driving it a bit more for picking up/dropping off his colleagues?
  21. I like the look of those chocks. Where are they from?
  22. Had a very enjoyable day winching trees over for TVI in the sunshine. No pics as too busy but plenty of tea and chocolate biscuits from the home owner.
