  1. A farm I do some work for had a visit a couple of nights ago and the thieves ripped the locking bars off of several shipping containers with a vehicle. They targetted containers rented by builders and similar used to store tools and were selective in what they stole. Last night saw another visit with a different technique where they tried to break into the farm office but they were disturbed when they broke a window and so ran away. Keep 'em peeled.
  2. I'm reliably informed that what you mean is a clitoris, although I'm not sure what use this would be on the forum. On the plus side, at least it might make it easier to find.
  3. People could certainly argue. What would be their chances of success is certainly debatable.
  4. Probably my favourite definition in Law.
  5. Yes, mate. I'd have to dig the books out to give you chapter and verse but I'm pretty sure it was in the second of the Acts. An invited guest can also be considered a trespasser ab initio (from the off) if they do something outside their remit once on the premises.
  6. Signage denying access would mean anybody on the land would be a trespasser from the off and a lower duty of care would be applicable.
  7. Ex turpi causa non oritor actio. Poaching is a criminal offence, unlike trespass which is a civil offence.
  8. We went to my Mum and Dad's for Sunday lunch, to take my Dad's birthday present(83 yesterday) and to help him put up his new shed. Nice day but bloody freezing.
  9. We'll sort out with Graham when I am up there next and get something organised.
  10. Freudian Slip (A Definition With Examples)
  11. Surprised you didn't get a pic at Tinkers Hole as well.
  12. If he has a trailer to use, I could bring some back next time I'm up cutting.
  13. Nice. Hopefully they will tell people that you are trustworthy too.
  14. When I put a line in for a fell, I either get it first time or everybody has time for a brew.
  15. Just make sure you have all the relevant evidence at your fingertips if it actually goes to court. The most important thing you will need to prove is the previous pattern of doing business, ie the maintenance man being your point of contact and his authorising previous work. Remember that you are in a civil court and so you only need to prove your case on the balance of probability rather than beyond all reasonable doubt as in a criminal case. If it goes to court, don't try to be Rumpole of the Bailey but do make sure you are well organised and respectful to the court. Good luck!
  16. Very true, Johny. Very important to remember to add on your reasonable expenses to the original debt.
  17. If the maintenance guy was who you usually dealt with, it was perfectly reasonable for you to assume the contract was authorised. In addition, the duty manager reconfirmed the contract by allowing you to perform the job(known as acceptance by course of conduct). I would go down the Small Claims route with a decent expectation of success.
  18. No, it's from not using Aspen.
  19. That one may have been mine.
  20. I use one when I'm chipping London Plane or ringing up a lot of timber on the log pile. Seems to keep a lot of crap out of my nose.
  21. Blimey, you've had some messy visitors there.
  22. So many people have helped me on here so in no particular order: Geoff, Arbogrunt, TVI, Mark Bolam, Mick Stockbridge, Stevie Blair, Basil, Spud, Andy Collins, Steve Bullman, Biggarlogs, Swinny, Tony Croft, David Humphreys and many more.
  23. I can't honestly recommend the pleasure of cutting one up.
  24. Did you treat them to a large dustpan and brush to deal with the Ash that had the slight argument with a stump?
