  1. Or more impressively, a Defender door that stays shut.
  2. I agree on contacting Head Office but I would not give them any time as you have already been reasonable enough. They should either sort it out or you start the ball rolling. I had problems with a well known car rental company over a very small invoice a few years ago. The branch I had done the work for kept fobbing me off so I waited in their car park until the front desk was busy then went in and asked in front of all their customers for their head office details as I needed them for the court papers. I had received an email by the time I got home 20 minutes later asking for details of how to make payment. I wouldn't bother with Trip Advisor. Just make sure that anybody you know gets to hear the story of why they shouldn't do any work for this hotel.
  3. BTW, is the hotel independent or part of a chain?
  4. Don't be fobbed off if they try to say he wasn't authorised. Make sure you have your paper trail sorted out.
  5. Best thing would be to try some different trousers and boots on at a dealer's as the fit can vary quite a bit.
  6. Always sad to hear news like this. Sympathies to all concerned.
  7. Husqvarna 135 or look at the Echo range for saws around the 40cc range. Forest and Arb would be good website for you to look at.
  8. Definitely. Can be got for around £200 online. I have one for small veg clearance jobs where I don't want to carry a 357 all day and it copes well.
  9. Yes, adequate but it won't be fast.
  10. No worries, I know what you mean. It only takes the CPS to decide that there is insufficient evidence to charge the burglar and, hey presto, no misdeed so no ex turpi causa.
  11. True, we have all heard stories but how many of them are true? Unless somebody has deliberately laid a trap then there should be no claim recognised.
  12. A farm I do some work for had a visit a couple of nights ago and the thieves ripped the locking bars off of several shipping containers with a vehicle. They targetted containers rented by builders and similar used to store tools and were selective in what they stole. Last night saw another visit with a different technique where they tried to break into the farm office but they were disturbed when they broke a window and so ran away. Keep 'em peeled.
  13. I'm reliably informed that what you mean is a clitoris, although I'm not sure what use this would be on the forum. On the plus side, at least it might make it easier to find.
  14. People could certainly argue. What would be their chances of success is certainly debatable.
  15. Probably my favourite definition in Law.
  16. Yes, mate. I'd have to dig the books out to give you chapter and verse but I'm pretty sure it was in the second of the Acts. An invited guest can also be considered a trespasser ab initio (from the off) if they do something outside their remit once on the premises.
  17. Signage denying access would mean anybody on the land would be a trespasser from the off and a lower duty of care would be applicable.
  18. Ex turpi causa non oritor actio. Poaching is a criminal offence, unlike trespass which is a civil offence.
  19. We went to my Mum and Dad's for Sunday lunch, to take my Dad's birthday present(83 yesterday) and to help him put up his new shed. Nice day but bloody freezing.
  20. We'll sort out with Graham when I am up there next and get something organised.
  21. Freudian Slip (A Definition With Examples)
  22. Surprised you didn't get a pic at Tinkers Hole as well.
  23. If he has a trailer to use, I could bring some back next time I'm up cutting.
  24. Nice. Hopefully they will tell people that you are trustworthy too.
  25. When I put a line in for a fell, I either get it first time or everybody has time for a brew.
