  1. I think it's like jury service, Steve. Everybody has to do their turn.
  2. If it's a like for like item, I normally look on the internet to find the best price then go to my local dealer to see if they can get close. If they can, they get the business. If they are way out, I buy online. They are normally pretty good when I ask them reasonably. Last saw I bought from them I got a third off without any argument.
  3. I thought ISIS were getting into tree work now.
  4. Depends on the fit. As you know, I'm built for comfort, not for speed.
  5. Their saving grace for me is that they fit me
  6. If I could pass popcorn, I'd work for Sunkist.
  7. I was considering just getting Cat A Hiflexes but they were twice the price of the Husqvarnas.
  8. Cheers. What are they like for being hot to wear?
  9. Has anybody got any experience of these, good or bad? I'm looking for a cheap pair of Cat As for those rare days when it's too hot for Cs and I've seen these for around the 80 quid mark. Thanks in advance. HUSQVARNA ARBORIST TREE SURGEON CLASSIC TROUSERS CHAINSAW PROTECTIVE BLACK | eBay
  10. Time to worry is when you would more popular, not more valuable.
  11. Easy mistake to make, given his blue rinse and general lightness of foot.
  12. Yep.
  13. Drooooooool......
  14. Oh, I see what you mean. Dirty boy!
  15. Never had you down as a friend of Dorothy, mate.
  16. What's your mum doing in my butler's cottage?
  17. Sorry to hear that, mate. Hope you are all ok.
  18. Whichever brand you choose, make sure they are the sort you push inwards to close rather than pulling out as they are much easier to use.
  19. I suspect it wasn't Straight outta Compton though.
  20. Good call. You may find that you don't want to work for some people but you won't know until you try. The main thing you need to do is meet people and let them know you are available.
  21. Speaking as somebody who has been in your position, don't be in too much of a hurry to spend your redundancy money as you may need it to see you through lean times until you make enough contacts to give you a steady income. Don't turn down any opportunities offered, you never know what might come from them and be honest with your capabilities. You need to put yourself in people's minds as somebody they can work with so you are the first call when they need extra hands. Good luck!
  22. Thanks Alec, I had but it was a bit rich for me. Also, it's a bit too close to the industrial estate next to the A12 which is the haunt of a man who has a penchant for helping himself to other people's kit on an industrial scale.
