  1. I doubt he would be wasting his time with this pish if he was.
  2. Whenever I've done it, being in a draught is agony.
  3. Go Cold Turkey, Gary.
  4. I reckon you just wanted to play pirates. ?
  5. Do what you like, I don't run the place. All I'm saying is don't encourage him then complain about him posting crap.
  6. What's an even bigger shame is that all the people who keep giving the troll the attention he craves haven't learnt theirs.
  7. Unfortunately, I suspect your sister has admitted guilt by paying the bill. The Police's reason could be that the other owner wouldn't press charges if she wasn't out of pocket and they cover their back with the signed community order. All sorted, crime solved and no court time wasted.
  8. Yes. I have a few people I work for who don't do logs so it works for both parties if I bring a trailer to jobs to clear timber. I get the wood and they lose a headache. If I'm working then I just charge my normal day rate or if I'm available on 'my' days then I will collect locally.
  9. I understand that different things work for different people. I have a yard with plenty of space and a free labour force to help me(I say free, he works for airgun pellets which he would get anyway).
  10. For me, seasoning the logs doesn't cost me anything as I don't have to rent a yard so my expenses are the same for a load of green logs or a load of seasoned. It would make no sense for me to give a discount on green logs.
  11. Diary is looking a bit empty for January and I'm getting bored of log splitting. Anybody need a hand around the Essex area over the next few weeks?
  12. Long live the people who don't want to season their own timber. Thanks to them, my logs sit in the yard through the summer increasing in value without my input. Gawd bless 'em!
  13. Apparently 'it's all banta, bruv, innit?'.
  14. That'll look smashing in your handbag, Steve.
  15. I had a new customer before Xmas. We arranged for a delivery on the Saturday before Xmas between 10 and 11am. I got a text at about 8.30 on the morning of delivery saying she was going to be in London but would be back by 4pm, could I deliver then? I explained that it would have to be at 4pm and no later as I was busy after that. I also told her that at the end of the day I was closing up for Xmas. That was all agreed and I was down at my wood yard loading the trailer early so I could be away on time. Trailer was all loaded and I was having a tea with my partner's parents when I get a text at 2.30 saying she had missed her train and would be later than 4;could I deliver in the morning? I explained again that it was now or never and said I would drop them off if she would drop the money off or PayPal me the money the next day. If I hadn't already loaded up, she wouldn't have got them. All ok, so I made the delivery. I hadn't had the money by the following evening and didn't get paid until I had asked at 7pm when she was planning on bringing me my money, upon which it was quickly PayPalled. Guess who's on the 'not again' list?
  16. Go for gauze rather than granules as they are less easily washed out of the wound by bleeding.
  17. On this plane, for him, no. Beyond that, who knows?
  18. Maybe he's back on the naughty step again?
  19. When I was a croupier(previous career), whenever there was a really unpleasant customer/incident, somebody would always say 'it's a glamour industry' which was a standard line spouted to trainees.
  20. Nice. I got my Zephyr tuned HW77K back from being blacked and serviced/tuned by Paul Chells just before Xmas(little present to myself). Going to be refitting the stock and scope before heading to the range in the next couple of days.
  21. Best present so far is tickets for Wilko Johnson next year from my lovely partner. Best thing about Christmas without doubt is my Dad's improving health after a bit of a dodgy time earlier this year. Only sad note is my brother's partner no longer being around after we lost her earlier this year to that shitbag known as cancer, in fact right when our Dad was very unwell too. Happy Xmas to all on Arbtalk and raise a glass to those no longer here.
  22. No plan survives first contact with the enemy.
  23. Canned Heat and Mac Rebennack; what's not to like?
  24. Good news. The Police have released pictures of their prime suspect.
