  7. I'd still go with fuel problem if the filters got no fuel in it .
  8. the inline fuel filter needs to be full or pretty much full , is there bubbles being dragged in ? if so its drawing air in , id start with replacing filter and check hoses , maybe crud in tank could be something simple , good luck with it
  9. some form of weeping cypress ? got me stumped , looks like it be a bugger to prune though !
  10. id leave it overnight .......marinating for 12 hours ensures the best results !
  11. if i google arbtalk , it flags up as dangerous site ?? anyone else get this ?
  12. do you sell the rest of the power ranger outfit ! (i quite like the white one though)
  13. for any one that has got one , would they be entiltled to a full refund even if theres nothing wrong with it yet , based on what must be a dozen or so now they have got all the same faults ? ive got one and love it but ive gota say im a bit hacked that its got problems already ,:thumbdown:
  14. lets hope the tree officer has words with whatever half wit created that mess !
  15. hope she mends quick :thumbup1:nothing worse than a pet that cant run around like they want to , i absolutly hate broken glass , i take my collies fishing loads and the amount of times ive caught kids throwing stones at bottles along the groyne posts , they have no idea of the consequences
  16. :lol::lol:
  17. i always find its when the customer or a member of of public walks past and you can see them looking around wondering where the god awfull noise is coming from !lol , not sure on the bowie song ? i sing alot of queen !
  18. good on you mate well it all sinks in and your doing all the time its fun , its good your concentrating it means you care about what your doing and the risks involved , when i first started i used to dread doing reductions in fear of not knowing or getting it wrong but now i love them , and if i ever get bits where im perched right on the tip of a skinny branch i always find singing to myself helps ! even though you might think things didnt quite go as well or fluid as you thought they would your still one step better than you were yesrterday
  19. yes that is possible but NOT ideal the idea of all the lowering kit is so when that big piece goes over the groundsman can judge it falling and lower it accordinly so there is no snatch , when it snatches to a complete halt all your kit is put under stress and thats what will make the tree wobble . you can also take a couple of wedges up with you , drill a hole through the rear of it and attach a piece of throw line so you dont lose them , or a small felling lever ,
  20. yeh crack on the only way to learn is to have a go as others have said dont rush , dont forget to put your gob in before you tie the piece on , that way you wont cut the lowering line ! (and ive seen it done:lol:) you can sometimes get away with step cuts but mainly on smaller bits that you can ensure are gona fall away from you , dont forget if its a straight stem and you doing quite a big peice then a pulling line also is probably your safest bet but that would mean you need 2 guys on the ground , nothing worse than getting you gob and backcut spot on but the piece still wont fall , youd be amazed at how much of a tiny hinge can hold it
  21. ideally you want to probaly watch a couple first to get the jist of things but if you done a smaller one then its no different just a bit bigger , your not essentially "chogging down " that term really comes from step cutting managable peices to break off and throw down . presumably your be using a lowering pully with a suitable capstan or lowering device on the base of the tree , and more importantly a GOOD GROUNDSMAN who is used to running a lowering line so you dont get any snatch in the lowering and it all runs smooth , if that happens then you wont need to worry about your feet getting smashed and falling off your spikes , if your really that unsure and dont even know what cut to use then not sure you should be doing it yet , this isnt meant to sound patronising so sorry if it comes across like that , loads of vids on here have a search , best of luck and be carefull
  22. im not advocating it ? so youve never free climbed the first part of the tree ? youve never climbed past your anchor point ? , i guess you must be a groundsman
  23. just goes to show that you dont need to fall out a 90 ft tree to be life threatning , how many of us free climb more than 20 ft each day ? i know i do and did today
  24. cheers silky , all your positive posts about it help me make the decision !
