  1. May be worth setting up a website to explain your situation in september to take the orders for delivery in November. A simple enquiry form you can pick up when you get home.
  2. So the dealers have spent the last 20 years sending hilux to Africa. Now we are going to buy the Landcruisers You dont hear of much export going on with used Landrovers
  3. The guide price is often low to get peoples interest once on the hook they hope they will get carried away. What do they think its worth 5k We have a very snobby estate agent in Andover that does the same with properties.
  4. If it sells locally for £100+ a cubic metre may be worth a go if like here loads of people selling for £60 a metre you will make more money with your feet up in front of the fire and use less plasters.
  5. They should have just called it 1/4 would make more sense even if tech wrong
  6. Came across this years ago with a 181 we now call them little 3/8 and big 3/8

    Dyna..

The toyota looks a nice truck but falls down on payload against the cabstar unfortunately as I dont like Nissan now they are owned by Renault or citroin I forget which.
  8. Yes looks like the Amazon minus the turbo and intercooler. Which you dont need for a pickup especially down there.
  9. Well last week the jury was out for me on the discovery vs Landcruiser. This week the disco has failed its mot the lights keep going out as you drive and this morning no response from the remote fob vehicle immobilised. Had to take my spotless LC on a muddy job this morning. The disco days are numbered now but what do I replace it with. Could afford a new d4 van but not convinced its the way to go.
  10. There is only one strain of willow they make bats from I forget which it is but they can tell from the road by the colour of the leaves. It grows very straight and is planted for the purpose then harvested after about 15 years. They use most of the tree and not so much the bit near the bottom. Hurling sticks are made from ash and they are only interested in the bottom of the tree with the roots on so they can get the shape on the stick.
  11. That would be worth looking into thought of removing seats ply lining and blacking windows on ours to use as van to replace td5 commercial we have. The d3 and d4 discos now are to electronic and unreliable if we got to have a v6 might as well have a straight six.
  12. How much does it weigh when full of oak rings. I have a 16ft ifor with low sides and we need to be careful with that. Volume is 3 cu metres.
  13. BBC 5 day is normally the best I have found. Normally spot on but got it completely wrong saturday before last. Cant understand why their forcast is always totally different to BBC 10 day
  14. I dont think I could trust myself with those solid side extensions. Just so tempting to fill er up
  15. We are only in Andover Hampshire. Need a small lorry as I cant get an arctic in the drive. I may be able to unload big bits up to 2.5 tonne ea with the telehandler from an arctic on the road.
  16. Sorry should have said 8 wheeler lorry. I had a big timber trailer with 10 tonne crane but did not have the big tractor or enough work so sold it such is life.
  17. If you spend money on repairs then dont get 3k you could have kept it as it then only owes you 2 grand. I think I had a quote for a new one 6 months ago for £3500 + vat but could be wrong.
  18. From the first tonne you collect. £20 roadside verses £45 tonne road side for hardwood its a no brainer. Unless you intend to supply the log snobs in the future its only for your own use. Get 2.5 tonnes on an ifor and try it on the fire
  19. If I can afford it I try and go new. You can spend a £1000 on tyres brakes bearings cables etc and it still looks tatty.
  20. Thats the clever bit cutting it with skill, drying, storing and finding a buyer for it all of which I still need to learn. I am a newbie Jonathan has the experience.
  21. You dont get slab wood in rounds so need to worry about that. If its 20% moisture it would have been a tonne when green so if you buy for £20 its a bargain. You should get 1.5 -2 cubic metres out of it.
  22. I think my blades are £30 and last about 2 hrs which does not sound a lot but if it takes a minute per cut thats 120 cuts. On the the other hand some of my blades last a few minutes I have found someone local who will sharpen and set for £8
