  1. Have you tried an air mass meter if you have fitted a new one get it checked to see if its working.
  2. Sometimes you achieve more doing what you fancy doing rather than what you should be doing. If I get too much work booked in I dont have time to earn proper money
  3. 3 cu metres to be legal 5 cube will give about 2.5 tonnes on a wet day.
  4. Young but dont let them out your sight
  5. I thought the d22 came out on a 52 plate and was called the navarra ? but I am probably wrong I bought a new one in 2002.
  6. From the catalogue it did not look like there was much there. Was there any sawn softwood.
  7. What ever job you do with experience you get a nose for how to do it best. You get this talent for creating a proffessional result. I am sure Vosa are no different they can spot an overloaded knackered transit double cab from 2 miles away.
  8. Hi Tom Thanks for the offer from the comments above I think pop will be fine. Its just a case of making sure the local stuff works then getting 18 tonnes on a regular basis.
  9. Fish and guests go off after 3 days ( one of my mothers ) And first place I heard this one was log man nr Ludgershall about doing logs 'doing the unprofitable for the ungrateful '
  10. I have put wire mesh panels all round which are strong enough to pile wood against. You can push up to about 4ft with the bob cat when unloading but 31/2 ft is a mistake as I found by mistake:blushing: we dry logs in 1.5 cu metre bags and tip in tunnel to refill every few weeks during the winter so no need to go to the back until we have have a clean up in the spring. We stop doing logs so now have the woodmizer at the back and repair our vehicles at the front. Fantastic place to work all year breaks the wind in winter and bone dry, unlike tin sheds which sweat. In the summer nice and cool and shaded. I cant remember the supplier but they definately came from sussex and were called poly build or something mega helpful when we built it.
  11. Why cant he ask what the going rate is. If he underprices it he could get one of your jobs he is struggling and you are out of work. I could do it cheaper than alot of people I have paid my mortgage and have several means of income does that make it right.
  12. Hi Ed and Jim could I come out and grab a trailer full and pay you for it. A good mixed bag big ones small ones knot free and knotty. That way when we get a big load know what we are dealing with. We have a full order book. I was asked a few months ago was asked for 650,000 bags but wife was not keen to make them
  13. Nick have you got one of the new fuelwood 3 ph kindling machines. I think big rings are good as less bark but need to cut them accurately to 6in for our kindlet triangles work better than rounds as they dont shuffle up and down the conveyor.
  14. Its alright Dave my glass is completely full again, yard much tidier and my back does not hurt. Where is Dave Martin gone anyway see he not been on for months not broke his glass has he.
  15. If it goes through kindling machine without jamming or breaking up and looks good in the net thats 90% of it. The only thing left is does it burn and start the fire, needs to light easily and last long enough to get going. Once I have found a stick to try I may be interested in getting some pop of you in future only problem is no access for arctic and now no processor as we have given up logs.
  16. Is it your timber of choice for kindling. Do you have a stick I could buy to try.
  17. I think they have tom leave a certain amount to create habitat for bugs and things.
  18. I use round up bioactive from scats £54 for 5 litres. Not available off the shelf and you will need certicates or tell them you own a small holding I think you have to sign for it.
  19. Or sitka spruce if any one has some close by,
  20. Yes 11kw has 40kva genny written all over it. You may get it started with less but it wont do genny or motor much good long term. I have a 60kva and run a big 5kw dust extractor at the same time. Engine driven is more portable but noisey and expensive to run especially petrol.
  21. Mines leccy its alright if you know a generator engineer dont make alot of difference cant work it anyways
  22. I think all mine are on a left hand thread
  23. been looking for years but need a sample of pop to try first.
  24. I would say as much as you like 2 or 3 ft as long as the conveyor can grip it to feed in it would create less jams as well.
  25. Looking to buy a couple of tonnes to try through my kindlet. If it works a regular supply in the future. Can pop be bought in 8" cord or does it tend to get cut when much bigger. I need softwood that does not have to much bark or bark that falls off when part seasoned. Not too many knots and splits easily and cheap
