  1. I Had one of these about 8 years ago. 60hp and very very under powered. Great fun as a toy but not a working vehicle imo. I sold mine after a brown trouser moment travelling down a steep hill in a flash flood the brakes were wet ( drums all round ) and unknown to us the slave cylinders in most of them had started weeping. I stopped short of a new mondeo by about a foot the only reason it stopped I think was me blowing on the windscreen and flapping my arms. Mine was in good order with a good engine but with 2 tonne on the back even a slight hill would knock you into 1st and 5 mph. The u900 would be a much better bet with more room in the cab and I think they come with disc brakes.
  2. I tried the billet idea. Seemed very slow. Ideal if you only have very large timber and are geared for splitting it. Otherwise stick with processor stuff and get a machine that will cope with at least 14" and as has been said get it straight in to 10" logs. I think the billet idea is ideal if your fire takes 3ft stuff.
  3. Sounds like seized pistons in the calipers. Salt gets in then they are stiff they move under hydraulic pressure but not so keen to let go. Wind them in and out a few times with a G clamp if they are stiff get them reconed. Surprising how good a brake fluid change is every 2 years have you seen the colour of old brake fluid compared with new.
  4. Is that the same as bromine
  5. I think I have some pumps and filters kicking around one of our poly tunnels shame I did not read this post a few days ago. I will see if the sun has killed them yours if you need an extra one and can collect. We are in Andover. Worth getting a tub of chlorine granuals I use one in our hot tub also has clarifier.
  6. I saw a posch kindling machine at a show about 3 years ago. My verdict was if it starts going wrong you have to keep going until it clears the knots or jams. You cant flip the cover and dig the problem out like you can with a kindlet. No problem if you do random untidy bags but not if you do these. We bought our kindlet in 2009 and it has produced 1000's of bags with no worn parts or breakages good machine
  7. Had same thing about 10 days ago. Soil was very dry. been watering heavily, tonight lots of tats and alot bigger. I think I was worried about over watering after the last few years of wash out. With the sun out I have decided to get the water down on them.
  8. Bit late getting my spuds in so just got my first earlys tonight. I gave up the old veg growing and just did spuds, carrot courgetts and spring onions this year. You cant beat the taste of home grown new pots. We just cannot get brassicas to grow in the soil here. No sprouts or broccali here.
  9. That looks ideal. Big enough to take the weight and small enough to get into the job. Probably does twice as much to the gallon as a mog.
  10. He is right childish and pathetic. Now where did I put the jerry can and car keys
  11. You can if you find some smooth power floated concrete and a puddle of diesel.
  12. Does it stay in shape on corners and can it still tip. I would imagine you could get 5 tonnes of wet chip in that.
  13. The retail price on a 47kg of calor gas is £75 haggle and work it back to as close to £50 as you can.
  14. Dont leave firewood in the house during the summer wood worm only migrates for 2 weeks I think
  15. Chalk and cheese the posch will be more than twice the price and more than twice the quality. I would want to see both machines side by side at a show. The chinese machine has a two year warranty if the engine gives alot of problems it should be a copy of the honda so you could stick a proper one on. Its £1200 inc vat and del could get alot of work out without paying interest.
  16. Ask for a central heating rate and buy them in twos. Think I paid £115 icl 5% vat for proper calor. I know its all the same but we find the cheap gas does not gas off when getting low in the winter.
  17. Rodeo manual a good truck. Had a auto on hire for a week glad to give it back to revvy and whissy bit like driving a buggyscopic up and down the box all the time every time you touch the throttle it drops the lock up.
  18. There is only one place in the world I wont service a generator. Bradford, been there twice in 30 years both times came home without glass in the cab. You could visit the mosques or try foreign cuisine.
  19. Do you find when you have worked for someone like that when you do a quote you can spot the next one comming.
  20. See Riko advert on the right of this page they do new ones for 7k
  21. I bin looking everywhere for some poplar now its falling out the sky in London
  22. Wd40 is amazing stuff a windscreen replacement firm got sealant all over my leather Landcruiser seats. I removed a small area of colour so gave up and took it to a specialist they got it all off with no problem or damage with wd40.
  23. I think the deal is you have a very small chance of getting rich working for your self but no chance working for someone else
  24. Cedar has natural oils that make it weather well thats why its cut for Feather edge. It goes incredibly light weight when seasoned and burns fast as logs. We can stop drooling its in FRANCE.
  25. If you were in the south of England I would buy it for kindling if there were not to many knots. I think its good for cladding buildings. If he takes rough with smooth I would say this would be a smooth so you wont feel guilty giving him some rough in future. Probably still worth a drink as well.
