1. R J and sons is based in Maidenhead. Very good tree experience, used him for years. He may travel, but you would need to ask as hes not too keen to travel too far.
2. i have the transit tipper for day to day and a 4x4 ( not a pickup) to rescue it when its stuck ( when accessing a field i use) and for pricing. If i have a 4x4 tipper ive doubled my working vehicles ( my 4x4 can tow a trailer but otherwise not very useful). Also if its a club cab i can still take out the kids. Ideally id have a Iveco 4x4 or similar but the next stage in the license system ( 3.5 -7.5 ton) puts me off Tachos etc) ( especially as i dont do that much off road stuff). That and i think quite a few people just like to have the excuse for getting a 4x4 tipper.

5. Still got mine available
6. 2013 63 Toyota Hi-Lux 2.5D 4WD HL2 Single Cab Tipper Tool Storage 23,000 Miles | eBay
7. i saw that too, looks neat. I keep thinking that the mark up for pick ups with a tipper fitted would make it worth doing it for a living. Do one a month should turn a decent profit. Not that i personally have the skill but im sure i can be learnt.
8. does it have to be brand new?
9. I think they are around 4300-4500+VAT new but prices go up and down so dont quote me on that. The trailer is very good but i went for a standard trailer as i can also use that for logs and stump grinder etc. Not quite as easy to use but a simple trailer winch etc have been used in the past ( by other users ) which does the job.
10. I demoed mine on Yew and i was well impressed with the speed and ease it dealt with that! Conifer is the same. you have to make sure its cut the correct way to get it in the hopper but once it grabs it you have to try and hold it back from ripping it out your hands! Its never going to be like a road tow with hydraulics but dont let it fool you into thinking its not capable. Ps im selling mine so if you interested drop me a message:thumbup1:
11. thats a nice truck. I had a look and drive in one tuesday night, thought yes ill have this and it sold the next morning!
12.
Just out of interest where abouts in guilford r u? im felling a load of oaks in chobham and will have a load of timber. all cut smaller size as in a back garden. if ur close to make it viable your welcome to it. cheers

13. Yes i should/ will. Need to find out when i got it as tbh is painful to use. I too had read good things so imagine the disappointment i felt when i got this. Perhaps if the OP is near someone who has a decent one perhaps they could borrow it for a day to give it a try. And to the £5 offer, make it £6 and u got a deal lol
14. ive got a 360 tes Bag of shite! doesnt feel balanced in the hand starts like an old worn out saw from brand new. over runs like a saw thats starting to run out of fuel. doesnt have the grunt of the other saws its size. Biggest thing damn fuel filler opening is tiny! end up peeing fuel all over the shop or else have to but another fuel container just for it. If i wasnt such a lazy/busy sod i would have booted it onto ebay. And worse is its only a little cheaper than Stihl etc so not worth the savings if you ask me.
15. jose

New truck

those dmax look the the biz but new cost big. i still want one but going to give it a yr or so to left some second hand trucks drop a bit in price first. something about spending 20k + ( or 33k the setup i looked at new)and using it for tree work to get roughed up i cant do it!
16. Well I've got 2 201 both die on a regular basis. I've drilled The exhaust on one but makes no difference. Also got got 2 150t which die way too often aswell. All my other kit, blowers, hedge cutters strikers bigger saws all have been going for yrs without ever missing a beat. The only difference is the spark plug, not the fuel. Not sure why they went smaller (save weight or money?) but either way it's ruining the saws reputation. I would go husky route but I don't Like the sound of them been brittle tbh. I am hoping the tcm may address the problem. Or perhaps I should try Mikita next?
17. ha im glad its not just me! never changed a plug to date with the old 200T but these dame things kill them in no time.
18. Great machine had a 450 and traded it in for a 460 this yr. only niggle is the electric drive, its not a variable speed its all go or nothing. Cant creep it forward. But this is very minor really and have got used to it very quickly. i believe they are going to look into addressing this in the future. I had a issue with mine blowing the drive fuse but predator swapped the whole machine for a another new one and no probs since. I had a demo on the bandit before hand and its a great machine but its much bigger ( even though it can shrink down to 28 inches which is less than the predator). I personally didnt like that i could see where i was grinding. cheers
19. budget really CS100 is good, so are the Jo beau's Or a cheap bigger one ( older though)
20. Im tempted. No great love for the 201tbh. But tried the echo and have even less love for that lol!
21. Is this show any good for a works day out? Ie have a mooch around and a few beers to boot? Is there any evening entertainment of any kind? Or camping for that matter? Cheers
22. Yes i thought it was a good idea. It was an old 1940 dodge truck with a tipper back but it was the old wooden slate style rear body so looked very much the classic. Sign written up tastefully i thought it would stand out from all the transits etc that everybody has. It never going to be a everyday work horse for obvious reason but for getting ones name seen got to be good. Seems to work when for example redbull convert the vw beetles with a giant can of red bull on them. Same principle to me.
23. sweet. Always fancied a old truck like that, almost more as a advertising board but all my friends said it was a bad move and my partner wouldnt go along with it
24. ive got a jeep commander, its got the 3.0 crd. Cracking 4x4. comfy grunt great towing and the family love it! and can be had for not bad money now too.
25. He does know what I charge, often I'll discuss it with him if he's about when pricing. It's often on the paper work too as its used later for the invoicing too. I always tell people how busy I am so that they can decide if they r willing to wait or seek alternative companies to quote. Works for me though I do potentially lose work but if I'm busy what else can I do. I have no desire to expand at this time. Cheers
