  3. Got a call from a lady with some stumps in wokingham berks. Needs to go through the house so ideally some one with a alpine magnum or similar. pm me and i can pass u her number. Also saw a Pig of a job, a multi stemmed large ash, part of the tree is dead ( the stems where u would ideally tie in to). Back garden No rear acces. big timber ( for doing it by hand) to far away for a crane ( maybe a massive one might reach). fences under neath for good measure! its in Early, Berks. got contact details if anybody is desperate for work but i can see you thanking me!
  4. thank you guys I will let them know in the morning as one of them was getting worried about this.
  5. So I think I get it but I want to be crystal clear as one of my guys is getting worried about this. I have a transit 3.5tonne Timber wolf 125 which states weight of 580odd kg All guts driving got theirs licenses after 97 but before 2013. So they are all ok to drive this. May thanks
  6. Not to mention they often have bigger homes too! Maybe not in the cities but else where they all seem to have they big plots
  7. Ive personally found that hard working positive attitude and a willing to listen and learn far out ways the tickets. by this i mean i have tried out climbers with more tickets than i have had hot dinners who were absolutely terrible, who climbed like they had only seen trees in the movies! against this i have employed general bods who were keen and more importantly had common sense who i would have been happy to trust them to have a go at lowering and all sorts as they as just had common sense, listened and worked. God i sound OLD! u willing to travel? Good luck
  8. Try sending the a charge for ur time, ie a couple of hundred quid or so. I know its never going to cover ur costs but u might get lucky and someting is better than nothing!
  9. i tried one of these out for a while. cuts terrible i found, best way to describe it was scratching at a branch more than cutting it. if you use a saw daily forget it. ok for joe public who uses it once or twice a year and digs dirt and stones etc with it. mine got hung on the wall for 6 mths before being chucked in the bin. for me it was a waste of money.
  10. I cant see why we dont have these over here. they look like they tick so many boxes so to soeak and obviously they work in the tree game. Why cant they be shipped over here:?
  11. i got a contact who constantly emails me as says " just cut the tree, its in london" every time i have to ask him where as london is a big place! the phone call with " how much to cut my tree" is almost weekly. even had a gardener mate ask me today how much to grind out a stump? umm where is it? how big is it? maybe i should invest in a crystal ball

    credit cards

I have a quick question hoing to answer a debate im having with the mother in law. I dont have the facilities to take payment via credit card. In the last 7 odd years i have had 2 requests for payment to be made by credit card. The mother in law thinks if i have this option advertised on the website etc i would get more work/enquires? Any advice/ experiences please. Cheers

    service magic

ahh ok cool Thanks for letting me know
  20. Hi all Has anybody heard/used this? I logged into my work email to find 6 emails saying people want work and to call a number to get the details. a 0203 number. Now i have never heard of this service magic before so instantly i think scam mail. Just wondering if anybody has encountered or used this before. Cheers
  21. I have recently bought one of these. 1st outing was on a big garden clearance, loads of trees to come down. Got to say you can drag out a huge amount of logs and branches more than if you were dragging or using a standard wheel barrow. i was a little bit surprised at the weight of it but that only confirms its made of tuff stuff. probaley good if you have heavy handed bods! nearly lost the clip to extend the handle a few times already, must do something to prevent that asap. the only critisim is that you have to stack it with a little thought or you end up with this huge pile that you drag happily along untill you get to a tight gap (ie gate etc) then you cant get it through. Otherwise i got to say its a fantastic bit of kit. it definately makes a groundies life a lot better!
  22. Just a quick update. The tree blew over yesterday. Wind was so strong that it went away from its lean ( hope that makes sense). Cheek is I didn't even get a call totidyitup! Never mind. Cheers all
  23. Got a lime coming down on this Thursday, Bracknell Berkshire. If anybody wants it? Using a crane so some big lumps. Cheers
  24. No there was a walnut there about 30+ years ago when the house was built. the builders put about 6ft of soil around it so it died. the stump was removed and the acacia was planted ( a root ball 15ft high tree i belive) and it has grown ever since. He is addament it has been there 30 yrs ( as he planted it). I was impressed how well its grown tbh. not work has been done near it at all.
  25. Thanks Paul It is along side his driveway and has lawn behind which is the direction i reckon it would go if it did. there is a footpath and road about 10-15ft away and it would reach this if it went that way. no other trees or shrubs within 15 ft at least. Thanks for you input.
