  1. Hi all I have quite a lot of logs sat in a field. They have been there for about 2yrs now. Mostly cut to suitable size. I would guess there is about 20-30 transit loads there. Mixture of hard and soft wood. I need to remove them ( in a friends filed). I can prob arrange use of a loader to help load them up. They are in Wokingham, Berkshire. Looking to shift them or else i am going to have a big old bonfire. I was planning to get into firewood but life decided that it wasn't to be. Please pm me if you may be interested. A large lorry (artic size) lorry can get very close and a loader can do the rest. Many thanks
  2. i have 2 cats and a dog, personally think dogs are much better all round. cats are friendly (when they want to be) and for some a good pet. i think a lot can be learned/ gained from simple measures. a bell which is simple and cheap. secondly a curfew. Keep them indoors at night. This is done in Australia i believe and greatly protects the wildlife that comes out at night. This and using a cat litter tray is going to cut down on their messing others gardens. (in my last house every cat in the neighbour hood used my garden as a toilet. disgusting) Not a hundred percent effective but its going to help and the cats are not worse for wear. Add to this any cat caught after hrs ( which must have a contact number / micro chip will be returned to the owner ( perhaps charge a small fee) but have a 3 strikes type system where it will be re homed or destroyed if repeatedly been left out. also lastly any cats caught out repeatedly should also be neutered to help control the numbers. lastly dog owners that let their dogs crap everywhere and not pick it up should be tied to a post and have it rubbed in their faces! amount of times i step in it on the local parks and around kiddie play areas is terrible. no excuse. i used nappy sacks, cheap as anything and take 3-4 at a time, so light i dont even feel them. there is no excuse
  3. Saw the 230 at the Saltex show the other day, looking like a great machine. when i replace mine i will definately have a demo on this. well laid out and easy to access / service. what more can u ask? ive had 2 tw125s and the predecessor entec and never had any issues with the tw range ( had a 190 on load for about 3 months now from an old 4" entec thats like chipper heaven!!). i run a 4 man team and this would be more than enough to keep the guys busy all day. glad to see that the weak points have been addressed ( bearings, grease points etc). just need a fold down shoot and its all there! well done.
  4. thanks guys I had been wanting to get something done for about the last 10 yrs ( already had a couple) but losing my bro gave me the inspiration. I thought of all the things that we did and that meant so much to him and put them together, got advice and ideas from friends and family and it all came together love it. may get a bit more color to the sun but overall i love it.
  5. inspiration taken from this pic which was a holiday we took together shortly before we lost him.

  8. i got a vauxhall movano and the lights got broken. I got a friend who was hand with a welder to make me some guards, cost me £20. i would do it myself but no welder. Admittedly not a pretty as them but basically the same thing. went to get new lenses the other day, vauxhall quoted me £240! + VAT in their wisdom they will only sell the entire uniot, housing and all ( but no bulbs). £20 each for the lenses on ebay. its a crazy world we live in some days!
  9. I thought possibly a caucasian wing-nut. but not sure really.
  10. Got emailed this picture and i cant pin down what i think it is. Any help would be great. Cheers

    mini 4wd truck

Well went and saw and drove the little truck, took the 4wd version off road too. It was up at bruntingthrope test site. Got to say was impressed. They have a off road section that the Isuzu dealers were using which although isn't massive in size has a couple of steep hill ascents and descents. Also took it through water 2-3 ft deep at a guess. It had winter tyres on but otherwise it didn't blink or stutter at all! Apparently the Isuzu guys were impressed enough to blah test rides themselves. It's not comfy like a bigger truck or a pickup but then has much better bed for use as a work truck ( all be it a small one). I already have a 3.5ton truck and don't have space for another, this however will fit into my garage and be big enough to do the smaller jobs I am currently turning away as I'm too busy to do. Going to look at the prices next and go from there. The engine is a Suzuki model , he told what but tbh I forgot.

    mini 4wd truck

    mini 4wd truck

No it would be used like a regular vehicle on the road, not as an estate vehicle or yard vehicle. driving in winter with no sides. would freeze to death!

    mini 4wd truck

i had a quick read of online reviews and the Suzuki link / comparison was constantly made. funny thing is i need a small truck but the pick up route doesnt seem a good use of space. This does look like it fits a gap in the market. I have a 3.5 t truck for the main gang but this would be an ideal 2 man small job truck. Add to that i had an email from Peter from Pro tipper who says he is no longer making the beds ( the other route i was looking at) so it narrows choice down. And looking at the dimensions it should just squeeze into the garage.

    mini 4wd truck

i think seeing one would be nice, there is nothing to beat seeing something in the flesh. shame the payload is a bit small (under 700kg) . though at the cost for a 4wd mini truck i think it may be worth a look at least. they r having a event day in about 10 days, though its up in bruntingthorpe i think which is a good 3 hrs drive from me so too far. but u can drive them off apparently

    movano

Ye i heard that its a gearbox out job. Thats why i dont really want to have to pay for it myself. I need to find my paper work and have a look but like said if its commercial then normally its tough luck. It just annoys me as its very much a oh well never mind attitude form them, in fact the dealership told me to be patient a little long, then when i came in admitted it would be weeks before they potentially got the part in! uptil now it had been good, thing is i never wanted one, but thanks to the gypsie ( and police to e lesser extent) nicking my new transit i wished to avoid a repeat of truck theft. sometime i really do think why be legal. After been the victim of theft, the police then gave hundreds of ££s worth of ladders away to the gypsies that they were raiding to recover a mass of stolen vehicles it then follows that the insurance companies then proceed to fleece me for the next 5 yrs for making a claim! Ford denied all knowledge about being able to break into the trucks without out damaging them ( turns out it was know about but never acted on it or warned anybody). :mad1::mad1: makes me feel like the fool for working hard and paying taxes when it seems so many dont bother and have a easy life! Rant over!

    movano

Hi All Ive got a Vauxhall Movano twin wheel based model. Just a heads up sort of and possible asking for help. The Hydraulic pipe which connects the clutch pedal to the Servo ( not 100% as not a mechanic) failed the other day. If you look at it its a silver metal pipe which part of the way along has a small circular section which i believe is a 1 way valve. The back of this valve blew, losing all hydraulic pressure so no clutch. Pain in the ass big time but its only a pipe so at least not the actual clutch. So i thought! As it stands i have at best a 1 month waiting time for the bit! This is a 2 yr old truck, not done 20K and still under warranty. and the truck was empty at the time. So just be aware if you have one. tbh its been pretty good till now. These trucks are basically Renault traffics i believe, just different badges. Vauxhall didnt even want to give me the part number so i could try and source the part myself! If i can source the pipe they say they cant fit it under warranty as they have to source it. I explained to them (after telling them that got to be bollock) that the hire cost alone for a month will be less than getting it fitted anyway not to mention the PITA it is having a crappy hire van that just isnt set up for tree work! If anybody can help/ recommend a place i may be able to source a part the part number is 95507284 Also i dont know if anybody knows but to me a month seems a unacceptable length of time for a new vehicle that is being sold by 2 manufactures. Would there be some kind way of recouping hire costs? Not sure but perhaps small claims courts, refunds , something? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Many thanks Jose
  21. Duncan ground works takes it for about 30-40 £ a transit size load. The are by lightwater. They use to supply grab loaders to if needed.
  22. ive got 2 but they wont hold a tune. new carb needed perhaps? moved on to the 201 now.
  23. I use r j and sons, based in Maidenhead. Great guy. Google him or pm me for number. Not sure how busy he is though.
  24. Hi All I did think that if they were serious it wouldnt be hard to bring along a couple of wheels and bolts. Ok thanks guys, i will ponder it some more. Thanks for the replys. Jose
  25. I have a trailer which i would like to keep. I dont use it very often and was wondering if removing the wheels + a chain and ground anchor is better than a wheel clamp and chain and ground anchor? this would be inside a garage. The garage is in a block which is around the corner so i cant keep a close eye on it, it has no power either. Other wise i have the trailer in my garden which is a PITA to be honest. Just after peoples thoughts and any decent tips for trailer security. Many thanks
