1. get wet. and moan as well as it would be rude not too.
  2. I always deal with Stuart at Lister widler Reading. Top bloke. bought 2 chippers from him and toying with a 230 now. If he wasnt good i wouldnt go back!
  3. had a thing a few years ago where my wife hit another car when driving mine as a additional driver. 4 years later i was getting the company truck insured (commercial use) . Ignored my clean license and 15 yrs no claim bonus. But added £1000 when i told them about the accident my wife had even though she is not on my company insurance. So yes any excuse they will ramp up the insurance premium.
  4. have a harkie Sweat my nuts off in 5 minutes of putting it on. wouldnt buy another. how warm is the cut and climb compared to it i dont know but if its close id rather get wet ( which i do anyway from the sweat!)
  5. i had a demo on the bandit but went for the 460. Bandit was a solid machine and big! although it can go narrow its a big machine. I personally didnt feel comfy with it, i couldnt seem to see where i was grinding. The 460 i can see a lot more. Dead from Global was brilliant though. Top man that. 460 drive is electric, not the smoothest but nothing major. u get use to it pretty quick. a graduated drive ( so it dont just go ahead full speed would be good and was the only feedback i have really for preadator). cables can get stuck but a bit of lube or even new cables isnt a major deal. Try them and u should be able to decide for yourself.
  6. heard on the radio the head of the school ofcom or what ever it is saying that he doesnt agree with going during term and beside its only a little bit more expensive during term time. Not sure what planet hes on but ive seen it as a minimum of 3 times more expensive, often 4 time the cost to go during the holiday time. if like me a fine of 120 or even 240 does little to put me off if the holiday dates push the costs up by thousands ( im a family of 4). as an example few years back after a family tragedy i wanted to take the family to see my mother on the half term week. all that was needed was flights, nothing else. £6000 week after half term £1600. And to add insult to it all they say you have to wait till they finish the education years if you dont want to pay the fines. When my kids r 18 i doubt ill be playing on the beach with them. Whilest ranting i cant understand why the teachers have to have teacher training days right after having the school term holidays? say summer they have 6 weeks off then take another day to do training. wasnt 6 weeks enough already( thats just one of the many holidays they have off too).
  7. i had a 13 mm spanner once, in fact still got it in the garage!
  8. hi guys Yes im still going, all things are good. Yes the landy looked good, was great off road but just kept breaking! Glad the vauxhall body come in use. My old chip body is still going well on the vauxhall, got to say touch wood no major issues really. Hope all is well for you guys
  9. Yep thats me
  10. land rover defender 130. was a money pit. kept throwing the money at it, damn thing was nearly a new truck by the time i got rid of it. every month i would say that must be it. then something else would go. got a LDV after that, another pain in the rear. served its time but got to the point in the end where it didnt make sense to keep it either. had a new transit but the gypsies nicked that just over a yr later. Thanks ford for not telling me they were so easy to steal! got a vauxhall now as i hope the gypsies wont be so interested.
  11. ive also got a CS100 for sale. Great machine and sounds exactly what u need to move forward ( a chipper that is, not necessarily mine).
  12. its something i would consider in certain situations. i am a small set up without the bigger machinery so i would definitely use it if made logistical sense. but as said if u were investing in the kit just for this then no. As a side line yes, sole venture no. Too many established firms existing that could do this already ( as already have the kit) but dont seem too. Must be a reason for that.
  13. If u want it all go American! 10k will get u a jeep commander carry 7 in comfort, meant to be excellent off road and loads of grunt. 3l v6 or 5.7v8 Only down side a bit juicy ( mines about 20mpg or so) ultra comfy and comes with all the toys! If u can handle left hand drive then a f150 or so.
  14. Which dealer was that?
  15. jose

    snow

hot down here and as much as i love a bit ill keep to warm dry days thanks
  16. R J and sons is based in Maidenhead. Very good tree experience, used him for years. He may travel, but you would need to ask as hes not too keen to travel too far.
  17. i have the transit tipper for day to day and a 4x4 ( not a pickup) to rescue it when its stuck ( when accessing a field i use) and for pricing. If i have a 4x4 tipper ive doubled my working vehicles ( my 4x4 can tow a trailer but otherwise not very useful). Also if its a club cab i can still take out the kids. Ideally id have a Iveco 4x4 or similar but the next stage in the license system ( 3.5 -7.5 ton) puts me off Tachos etc) ( especially as i dont do that much off road stuff). That and i think quite a few people just like to have the excuse for getting a 4x4 tipper.

I bought it in April 2014 from my local Green Mech dealer T H Whites in

Arborfield.

I bought it with the idea of setting up a second small team to run along side my main team and for all the jobs where i can get into the back garden with it to

chip on site.

Long story short i didnt set it up and i have used it maybe 20 times at a push.

I had it serviced in april this year by TH Whites and have used it 3 times since

so its pretty much a new machine still.

I have a TW 125 for my day to day work ( looking to move up in size soon) and i

am looking to sell it as i dont hardly ever use it.

  20. Still got mine available
  21. 2013 63 Toyota Hi-Lux 2.5D 4WD HL2 Single Cab Tipper Tool Storage 23,000 Miles | eBay
  22. i saw that too, looks neat. I keep thinking that the mark up for pick ups with a tipper fitted would make it worth doing it for a living. Do one a month should turn a decent profit. Not that i personally have the skill but im sure i can be learnt.
  23. does it have to be brand new?
  24. I think they are around 4300-4500+VAT new but prices go up and down so dont quote me on that. The trailer is very good but i went for a standard trailer as i can also use that for logs and stump grinder etc. Not quite as easy to use but a simple trailer winch etc have been used in the past ( by other users ) which does the job.
  25. I demoed mine on Yew and i was well impressed with the speed and ease it dealt with that! Conifer is the same. you have to make sure its cut the correct way to get it in the hopper but once it grabs it you have to try and hold it back from ripping it out your hands! Its never going to be like a road tow with hydraulics but dont let it fool you into thinking its not capable. Ps im selling mine so if you interested drop me a message:thumbup1:
