    dead cedar

Yes i think your right. kicker is hes stinking rich but tighter than a ducks .... I lost the last job to another firm ( large white pop which was somehow still leaning up over a smaller oak. No was i was climbing it, priced a mewp but he got someone else in). TBH i dont worry to much as there is always more work, just hate to waste my time as hes at least a hour round trip to look at the work. Thanks for the repies guys

    dead cedar

Priced a large dead Cedar of Lebanon to reduce back to major timber for a customer as while back. Its in a very large lawn area so if it came down it would cause no harm to anything. Now my question is would you feel safe climbing it taking into account its been dead for at least 4 yrs? The bark is all coming away and the trunk feel very solid but its the roots that concern me more. What do you think? Personally i would rather use a mewp but the owner is tight and more than likely they job will go to another firm.
  8. so i just looked up the emissions on a new dmax-194. that means £1200 a year! Am i missing something or is this a blatant money grabbing exercise that once again attacks the motorist! anybody else tempted to do what the caravan boys do and just nick a similar model cars numberplate. Presto you disappear!
  9. Hi guys I didnt do it in the end which was the right move. I think i will have a look into it, i dont do any line clearance etc but better to have the knowledge and not need i say. Cheers all for the replys.
  10. just looked at a job today where this would be perfect! Bit mactracarpa to come down. big old but but not too tall. Anybody else have a similar lorry near to Maidenhead? Cheers

  12. Death on a stick isn't what I have planned! And my main climber just had twins last week so not on to ask him either. Thank you for replies guys.
  13. Not sure what a dno is tbh. No I don't get involved with electricity as it scares me a bit. Give me a big saw all day long but a wire where I can't see anything moving or happening then I don't like it. Than k you for the replies.
  14. Third one. Hopefully show it better
  15. Pics didn't load in my first post.
  16. Got a group of conifers to reduce but has a power line pole inside. They appear to be insulated but I will still need to be very close to it( with in 1-2ft). Now tbh I don't really want the job if it's dangerous plus it's in too cheap. Question is is it dangerous? Hopefully te pictures will come up. One is the adjacent pole to show how it looks as the other is buried in the tree. Cheers
  17. Which looks like it's probably double the price if u bought it in the states. Rip off Britan again?
  18. Man that Dodge Ram is £63450!!!! Makes the Dmax look cheap!
  19. Hi Guys. Yes i mean the discharge chute. As mentioned the timberwolf has no means to prevent the engine from been started anyway. Like said once the blocked chipper has been cleared out spark her up and let it snow chip! Ive been taking it off daily for the last 10 yrs or so so its not the end of the world but i always like to see if i can make minor improvements to my daily life. save 2 mins a day, 5 days a week then over a year it adds up a bit. Be nice to be able to quickly fold it down and be done. Cheers Guys

  24. I know green mech used to do them ( stopping now due to H&S i believe) but has anybody done this to other brands? I am looking to see if this is a option on a timberwolf 230. I have to take mine off every day for storage and its a PITA. cheers
