  1. Both very good publications to keep up to date with what's happening in the industry The staff are quite nice too
  2. Think someone mentioned this in another thread quite recently. It's the Telephone Preference Service. Works for land line and mobile numbers. TPS Registration It does work.
  3. Hope your birthday brought much happiness and many pressies Liam! Cheers
  4. Just a tiny flicker of it here.........keep it up there!
  5. Andy, the Fjordlands are only available in Type A at the moment. No word yet of type C being manufactured. Dent, Stretch-AIR do a +7cm longer length in their Type C's and the size 14 boots, I think you may need to special order these. We recently ordered a special size for a customer, but the lead time was quite a few weeks. The size 14 boots for sale on here turned out to be a size 13..... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/11384-boots-sale.html Hope this is of help SIP size chart here
  6. Welcome to the area Rik! If we hear of anyone looking for new starts, we'll let you know. Be sure to pop in and say hello if you are passing our way (on A701 near Barony College)
  7. Cheers for that! Some hae meat and canna eat, And some wad eat that want it; But we hae meat, and we can eat, Sae let the Lord be thankit.
  8. Link below to the RR668 document might be useful to some: RR668: Evaluation of current rigging and dismantling practices used in arboriculture
  9. Congratulations to you both! Big 'hello and welcome' to Sheila - great to have another girl on board
  10. You could try these guys Mark: Stainless Steel Fixed Snap Shackle
  11. We use Sage 200 as our company accounts system. I haven't used the Sage Invoicing program you mention, but in general I find Sage very straight forward to use. I'd imagine you'll find it a huge benefit just having all your customer details, invoices and payments under the one umbrella. Also, having the facility to alert you to when payments are due in, will be ideal for helping with cash flow and chasing up outstanding debt. Good luck with it
  12. I'll let the expert fill you in with the technicals, but here's some further info from DMM on the hubs DMM-1804_Hubs_Info_Sheet_A.pdf Over to you Chris.........
  13. Here's a piccie of a setup using the new DMM rigging hub.
  14. That's right Margaret - it looks like the next Scottish Forestry and Arb Show will be taking place in the summer of 2011. Discussions taking place at the moment, but it's looking very hopeful that the show can become a regular Scottish event. Will keep everyone posted as and when we have further info. (You'll just have to come across again in 2011 Adam )
  15. I'm prepared for the long wait............. I was thinking that this was maybe an added concern on top of the already worrying decline in bee numbers? We haven't had such a severe long cold spell of weather for quite a few years and maybe the bees aren't genetically as tough as they used to be??
  16. reinstated and awaiting your intelligent response
  17. Poor wee bees http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/highlands_and_islands/8446804.stm (Sorry Angus!)
  18. Glad it's going to a good home! As soon as we have your details, it'll be winging it's way to you.
  19. I signed up to receive newsletters from The Children's Trust after buying my christmas cards from their site this year (which I thought was quite straight forward to do). I always think it's quite humbling to read about the work that goes on in these special places - kind of brings me back down to earth and makes me realise that sometimes the worries I have are only a flea bite on the side of an elephant compared to those of others. (You can always opt out of receiving email or postal correspondence from the charity too).
  20. Have to be honest, we haven't had problems with the Windsor bars, or Sandvik before that, but I suppose it's horses for courses.....
  21. I appreciate your point. I was thinking more from a technical perspective that we may be able to help. You are correct - Windsor is the old Sandvik company and was bought by Oregon about 5 years ago.
  22. for fear of derailing this thread and being further accused of shameless plugging, I'm going to send you a pm John
  23. If you need any advice on Windsor products, give Colin in our sales department a ring (01387 860 241). Our company is the Windsor UK dealer.
  24. Exciting! Looking forward to the draw......be interesting to see how many bods can squeeze into the chat room!? Amazing total btw
