  1. Happy Birthday Robert - have a great day!!
  2. That new pic of Steve in his Safe-Eyes Goggles has just made me think that more of you should be looking like 'Mr Cool' , so there's a couple of freebie pairs on the go. First two to pm me, will get a pair popped in the post tomorrow. (UK only, not getting caught out with that one again!) Safe-Eyes Goggles
  3. Link to the Grindomatic auto chain sharpener - video link at bottom of page:- Markusson Grindomatic V12 (cheers Justin )

  5. Hi Jo! We meet on this side of the water too! Didn't know you were on here....

    :) Yvonne

  6. These ones were fairly easy for me to identify
  7. I have to confess that I don't know much about these little fun guys, but I love taking their photos. The colours, textures and shapes are amazing, but to date these ones remain nameless in my album and I was hoping that someone could help me out with naming them? Thank you!
  8. Just a thought, maybe you could contact one of the poster design advertisers from the google ads down the side of the site page on this thread - they might be able to prepare you something - save you a lot of time and effort perhaps??
  9. Sorry, but I tend to agree with Joe. Would be better if you had images of a roaring fire and photos of the logs bagged up. Also, use warm colours in your poster. Maybe have a look at what your opposition are doing to see if you can get some ideas.
  10. Thanks Gorkde - reassuring info.
  11. I'm not sure whether or not Komet manufacture their own rings or buy them in, but I would think you can have peace of mind knowing that as one of the largest harness manufacturers, if Komet had any issues with their bridge rings, they would have been very quick to advise their customers. I'm sure that Komet will be well aware of the Kong issue as bad news usually travels pretty fast.
  12. You're welcome!
  13. The recalled rings were manufactured by Kong from Italy and we have had confirmation from our supplier of Edelrid products, that Edelrid do not have any association with Kong. Hope this info. gives you total confidence in your Edelrid friction saver.
  14. Robert, clear out your PM's. You're full!!

    boots

Secret with the Haix boots, and any others with removable insoles, is to slip the insoles out at night and let the air take any surplus moisture out of them, leaving them nice and dry for the next days work. Apparently on average your feet produce about an egg-cup full of sweat per day ! With Haix boots, their special climate system helps reduce the amount of moisture trapped in the boot by enabling it to escape to the outside via holes in the top of the boot, just through the natural pumping action created from walking. Clever.

    boots

I had a wee training session on Haix boots last week and the simple answer is, YES, the Haix boots and others in the same price bracket such as Pfanner's Zermatt and the Klima-Air Tirol Fighter are definitely worth the additional money. (And I'm not just saying that from a commercial point of view ). There are many reasons why, but very briefly, as well as using top quality materials (2.5-2.7mm leather, GORE-TEX etc), Haix have developed many unique features that not only give the necessary protection required, but provide exceptional comfort to the wearer together with a long boot life. An important fact I learnt was that due to the special design of the boot and the sole, good body posture is maintained by the wearer, thereby helping to prevent back problems; an extremely important factor for anyone working in the demanding environment of tree surgery. This link to What Goes Into A Haix Boot should be of use and if you want to be bombarded with any more info, just ask!
  21. The video deliberately shows a heavy cut to demonstrate the ability of the machine, but you can set the Grindomatic to whatever depth of cut you want, from 0 - about 4mm.
  22. Discs can be bought separately and yes you're correct, the blue discs don't overheat due to a more open grit pattern. They won't last as long as the pink discs however they will take a heavy cut and you'll still be able to hand file the chain at a later date. Guess that you'll get about 150+ chain sharpens out of the blue disc, but it depends how damaged the chain is. The blue is without question the best stone on the market and our harvester customers prefer it. (Blue 22mm fit the Oregon Grinders). See Grinding Disc link
  23. did warn you about the music!!
