  7. I've got one spare copy of Sherrill's '09 catalogue - will post it off to first excited member to PM me!!! Both catalogues are brilliant - Sherrill's especially - it's more than just sales material - you get loads of tips and advice on equipment/techniques etc, and Tobe Sherrill's got a real sense of humour. I'm taking inspiration from them for our catalogue - which could be landing on a doorstep near you very soon............... 12. Just want to say a HUGE THANKYOU on behalf of ourselves and The Barony College to all who attended yesterday and helped to make the first Scottish Forest and Arb Show such as success. Your comments are all very encouraging. There's no doubt that a regular event like this would be a real winner. Photos coming soon.............
  13. Oh yes Robert, the 'look' - think I'm familiar with that one! Would be great if The Barony could have as much support as possible. This is the 'pilot' year and the future of a Scottish event like this really depends a lot on the support from you guys out there. Entry is FREE and there are a couple of good prize draws on offer : £250 voucher towards a short course at Barony and £250 to spend in our shop. Chris White will be demonstrating climbing techniques etc, Orange Plant will be demo-ing their equipment as will Jas P Wilson amongst others. Check out the show website for a full list of exhibitors. Should be a grand day out with some good banter!! (Was also talk of a BBQ).
  14. Sorry you're not going to make it Robert - but totally understand and I'm on your wife's side on that one!!! Pop in and see us some time tho'.
  15. We did the training at the top of our workshop field - was an oak tree tho. Looking forward to the show - will be a great chance to meet everyone!

  25. Hi Hannah - I've just stumbled upon the Ladies area and am very keen to learn more. (I'm not a climber, I'm with Clark - supply arb equip etc - this is NOT a plug - just being upfront about who I am). I'm going on a one day tree climbing intro course at Barony College nr Dumfries, SW Scotland. Is there any advice you can give to me before I go? Is there any specific kit that is more suited to ladies? I have to admit, I'm not physically very strong - will that be a major prob? I have until 9 June to get myself organised, so any helpful tips would be gratefully appreciated! :001_smile:
