    Boots

I have to agree with above. My old haix protector pros lasted almost 3 years!!! The last pair only lasted about 1 year before both soles started to come away from the upper boot. I recently bought airstreams as I have some meindl walking boots already which i love, i can only comment on how comfy they are at the moment (very comfy), let's see how long they last!
  2. Hey albedo - we're going to a party on a boat in London for spiral tribes 23rd birthday, all the old crew back in the UK for the first time since the mid 90's. Just wish I was around in the early 90's to witness a great era in counter culture! I was in primary school though haha
  3. After visiting the d day beaches and war graves in Normandy earlier this year, I feel its even more important to show respect. I'll be getting mine soon.
  4. If I'm in Somerset by then I'll get the first round in!
  5. Hi Jon , snow here in Suffolk last night!
  6. I'll be sure to meet him, he must be my favourite poster on here.
  7. Oh and where? In the countryside somewhere between Glastonbury and bristol - can't be doing with town living again.
  8. Haha yes tcd, drink up thee zider! One of the perks of living in Somerset. And that's very intesting about peter pracownik, I've been a fan of his for a few years, we have a couple of his prints that we got signed when we met him in his shop in tintagel. He also did artwork for hawkwind, fairport convention and greatful dead so my cup of tea
  9. Keep looking mate, phone all the local firms on google maps, yell.com and earborist, arbjobs and ctc here you go, two jobs both in chelmsford so not far Bartlett Tree Experts: Climber Climbing Arborist / Driver required | D F Clark Contractors Ltd | Arbjobs.com find Arb jobs / Tree work
  10. I got one when I moved on from an iphone - you don't realise how crap iphones are until you use a good android phone - much less limiting. The screen is great and takes a couple of hours to get used to, then you ask yourself how you ever got on with the tiny iphone screen!
  11. Hi guys, my girlfriend and I are wanting to relocate to Somerset and I need to find work before moving down. I'll send a full cv to anyone interested. Here is a brief summary of my experience and qualifiications. 4 years in industry, 3 years climbing. Cs30, 31, 38 & 39, lantra chipper, level 2 certificate in arb. Held a full clean driving licence for 8 years and have the B+E category. I am also doing my c1 hgv licence asap as i will need it for my motorhome anyway. I'll be doing an online RFS cert arb course over the next year if that is of any interest. I'm willing to come down for a trial day/week (I have a van if accommodation is a problem) PM for my contact details Thanks
  12. Thats exactly what i did when i came out of college - best thing i could have done!! Go for it, you won't regret it.
  13. I don't think you should hold back dan - could save someone's neck! It's quite obvious though from various posts on here - seems quite a common thing for the bridge to fail. Not good.
  14. I'd avoid wd40 on pulleys and crabs, it could attract more grime and dust
  15. Mate give him a break He is asking advice on what new equipment is out there for him to try out. You must be some kind of arb-bot or carry your balls around in a wheelbarrow to have never been a little scared whilst climbing. Anyway....Spiderjack's are great, you'll need a ropeguide aswell - search 'spiderjack' on here you'll get loads of threads about it. Worth considering the Rope Wrench if you are spending alot of time in big trees.
  16. Sounds ideal , go for it and good luck!
  17. Yeh i must admit one or two of their staff aren't quite the ticket Quite handy for me as it's 3 miles away.
  18. Andy - Tripp Batt in Stanton stocks aspen (as well as stihl and husky with very good prices if you haggle!) probably the closest to where you are at the moment.
  19. Great machines! I've used one over the last year with bucket, forks and grab attachments. Great for small spaces with the artic steering and lifts huge lumps. It didn't struggle the other day lifting 35" beech rings cut to 2ft.
  20. It's very secure, double locks on everything, big fences everywhere. It's one of the places where the patients are quite dangerous. and.... I didn't see him when i posted the pic!
  21. First time I have climbed a tree in 3 months as i've been away (not prison ) Nice wet beech dismantle in the grounds of a mental hospital.
  22. Would like to see a top handle version of that! 2.8kg vs the 3.7kg of the 201t
  23. 'At's a rum ol' dew!
