  1. Hi littletree,I'm not familliar with the Stien helmet, but if the nuts are made of metal try a dab of 'loctite' thread fastener,or a very tiny bit of superglue on the back of the nut to prevent it unthreading, just a small amount mind,or you may have trouble getting it undone in the future. I have in the past created friction between a nut & bolt,in non crucial aplications,by standing the nut on one face of its hexagonal,on a hard surface, and giving it a tap or two with a light hammer to deform it out of true slightly so it pinches the thread a bit,but try threading them up together after each 'tap',as if you flatten the nut too much it wont go on. I'm going to keep my head down now for fear of a multitude of fellow arbtalkers screaming 'Bodger' at me!

  19. I had a bloke (poor excuse for one anyway) trying to stop a job, crane on a road, barriers etc, kept escorting him off site and back he kept coming, his wife and he were getting threatening, his wife for some reason decided to phone the old bill, they came they saw, they too got threatened by the worm spined male. They made a hard arrest, loaded him up,and the top cop on the scene gave me his number and invited me to phone him when the job was done and only then would they release this man from the cells. We didn't bust our guts getting it done too quick. Funny bit was when the 2 WPC's & this desk seargent did the arrest they all ended up in a nearby bush, all you could see was four sets of legs thrashing about. When they had got the cuffs on they reapeared and tried to pull the arrested man from out the foilage,he screamed on each pull. They had succeeded to cuff him behind his back, but round the base of bush and were nearly dislocating his shoulders trying to pull him out!what fun!
  20. Frail excuse but I'll fall for it!
  21. Can't be Felix, this guy wanted them felled!
  22. As long as the contractor was up to spec on quals & insurance no worries, especialy on a removal. They can protect trees, but they are not a body to dictate which tradesman to use. Thats my take on it anyway.
  23. Good link, going to try some of that.
