  1. I have also creapt it on the brake to move the machine further into the grind, but believe that it over stresses the drive & brake, better off reversing out & clearing/leveling the platform for the wheels, saves your shoulders a lot of work too. Its a static brake to fix the work position, not a friction device to hold you on a heap of grinding chaff.
  2. I only grind with the brake on,mines a big old dosco, the brake is not realy as heavy duty as I would want. They have a habit of getting gunged up & corroded on the caliper, service that & the cable system will not be under the same stress.
  3. I take it that you have anti roll bar on it,double springs,3500kg plate on the motor, the 110 will roll on corners more so than the 130,as the rear axle is getting more of the load.
  4. Congratulations to your wife and you,and it is a lovely choice of name!
  5. It sounds a great idea Tony,I wish you well in the venture!
  6. My 130 is 6feet wide,& 8foot four long,I kept it narrow as I see this as one of the benefits of a landy. The military use extended wing mirror arms on some of their landys, you can buy them if you search about,I got some britpart ones, but the quality is not as good.
  7. Always interested in new kit,but why buy before others try?
  8. Swab with surgical spirit on it,soak the bloody thing & it will let go. Had one on me pip sack a few years back, wife found it,it came off a jacob sheep I had been attending to,(cut after shearing before you ask).
  9. Thats interesting,great pics too!
  10. I would keep him away from your lunch box,he looks predatory...........
  11. :listen:Oh dear.....his exuberence is comendable, but I wouldnt let him out in public areas.............
  12. Pray share them, cant see any pics....
  13. Good luck mate, its a blow when kit goes bang.
  14. Thats a shame, how old is it,they normally hold up well with regular oil /filter changes.
  15. Go for a 200/300 series,or td5. Condition is everything with landys, some have had a hard life with not enough maintenance. Nene overland are ok,but you will pay top prices. The chassis do rust, and require a good check over when buying, but no more so than other vehicles.
  16. The cop looked a bit fazed by the camera & attitude, should have arrested him,but he was just doing his job,no control attitude,so why couldnt the light jumper just say sorry & get a wrist slap instead of wasting police time(which we pay for),and risking involving others in an accident........
  17. No,not everyone,but a student of the law with a big mouth.........
  18. I agree wiyh you,what a muppet!
  19. Good luck fixing this, let us know how you get on with it.
  20. The makita saws are ok,not got the oomph or reputation of the stihl, but please dont buy second hand off ebay, unless you are incredibly fortunate you will end up with a pile of trouble and wasted money. Save up for a new saw,it,s cheaper in the long & short run........
  21. On topic,I wouldn't worry about it Yogi,as long as you enjoy the work you will shape to it,chances are you will be ground working for experience more than anything else to start with.
  22. Youv'e a gentle way with words Steven...love it!!

Give them a soak in warm water, bath heat, with washing powder ,agitate it aroung a bit every now & then, half hour ought to do it,then rinse well in warm water & stack to dry.
  25. I probably dont do it as much as I should, but do!
