  1. Hamma, the scroungers have & always will go for a freeby, all good discussion,And a nice offer from Apbell. I love the ones who ask about the rings on the back of the truck,or ready for loading,I can respond as I wish, its the ones who dont ask that get my knickers in a twist.
  2. Looks a nice machine, the dosco stuff I have used always seems like good solid engineering.
  3. I dont doubt for one minute that they got him,in the fulness of time they will prove it too, they will want the dna tests to confirm before proof positive is revealed.
  4. I hear you,but the distinction is that taking without asking is theft, that is a clear line. The fact that this thread has raised all these points makes it a bonus,it might get one of ours a bit of money this winter,& the eyes of the world can see that we dont like people just presuming its all free.
  5. Well its a generous & considerate offer of you mate.
  6. If its not viable to take it away, whats the harm on posting on here,(website for arborists etc)that the timber is no cost, one of us can have a few quid out of Apbell's consideration in this post,in these times that gets the thumbs up from me,seems you cant win sometimes. The scroungers are already just that,& I would not knock an idea for fear of encouraging them, they are born that way!
  7. Its a great place,have visited a few times,take a camera,I didn't!
  8. Well done to the americans I say,Nice to see its possible to hit at the top of the pile, not just the blokes with ak's & sandles.

  16. In general.....correct!
  17. Yeah,& my little mutt is as soft as butter,do the wrong thing and off he goes, flick my eyes at him & he will respond the same way. for me he is two things..early warning(better senses than me), and a very good distraction if something needs sorting' Teamwork is what it's about. being in a situation when the dog has proved an absolute asset does not happen often, My last time I got in trouble I behaved & got control of an agressor, the mutt did his bit alright, locked on hard to the upper thigh and ragged it,he did not stop until I was more p##sed of with the dog than I was the situation. Nice to know they will back you up,but I Know they are only more than a deterant if you are there as part of the pack.

  24. Embrace these irksome quirks that come with age , Keep your phone in a durex...
  25. I think we will be seeing an increse in there thefts,if you want protection of a night time & you keep your kit at home,a good quality baby moniter in the garage, and the reciever in the bedroom is a good start for little outlay. I also run a fishing line across the drive, slip of plastic on the end from a milk bottle, which is held in a wooden clothes peg,the peg has a thumbtack in each jaw & a wire from each tack to a hidden battery & motorcycle horn. The line at two feet off ground(its virtualy invisible to furtive eyes, and the peg nailed through the hole in the spring to my side hedge, If they thrip the line all hell breaks loose & they wont find the peg and circuit as its all hidden away. You can add as many trips as you want on their own feed wires back to the battery & horn. Cheap & effective.
